Hi AutumnGal. Politics is a big word. I was told, "just don't mention a U.S. President", but when I mentioned something congressional (I think it was) my post was deleted and I was reprimanded.
But I think our posts actually have to be reported before anything is done, not sure about that.
 
Well I see people naming presidents and talking politics so I'm just trying to find out what the rules are. I thought I saw none allowed.

But I avoid them generally (politics) anyhow so shouldn't be much of an issue with me but that doesnt mean I haven't seen some that seem to have a purpose to them.

But again, I'm only just feeling my way around yet.

Politics is not allowed here
 
I've had that happen a couple times. I don't know the reasons either. My speculations are that not being fully involved and not responding for a time cancels notifications. But sometimes I've gotten notifications when someone posts to a thread that I haven't been in for a year.

There are more people who said this. I said it yesterday somewhere. Someone had quoted me and answered at least twice and accidentally I saw it. I got no notification.

The way I see it, a synonym for "politics" is "inflammatory." OK, that stretches semantics to a new level, but that helps explain why politics is not allowed, and what you must take into consideration during discussion. In America, "politics" has become the latest addition to the Physician's Desktop Reference for Psychiatric Disorders. This is a forum for discussion, not a recovery group for psychosis.

Thank you so much for making me aware that, within a group, people can still have different opinions. You give a little hope that things will work out without recruiting our young into a war that should not be happening.

You didn't say how old your sons are. If they are in school, you need to talk with the principal and see if the school is sending military recruiters' children's names and addresses. The "No Child Left Behind Act" required schools to do that, and I don't know if it is still being done. If they still do that, a written letter from a parent is supposed to prevent that from happening.

I'm in Holland. It's not mandatory here anymore. Germany wants to change it though and sometimes people online whine that kids these days don't want to defend their country. Then I say to a 60 some year old woman: Why don't you go? Easy talking when you never went yourself. It has more to do with culture than religion, because a Dutch atheist will also say: Bye. I'm not offering up my children for you. The ones who start wars can go fight each other. Good luck.

Wow, I wish I could experience other countries. I think we should all travel and learn how people are the same and different in other places. When all we know is our own backyard, that can lead to poor judgment. I am very thankful for people from other countries who post here.

I think before 1958 the US had an education that led us to peace, but from 1958 on we have educated for a Military Industrial Complex, manifesting a cultural problem that is really mean right now. But Edgar Cayce and others have predicted hard times that are a transition to a New Age, a time of high technology and peace, and the end of tranny.

Politics is not allowed, but exactly what is political? This thread seems to be connected to the problem of not having the proper separation of religion and government. It might be political to affirm that is true and use facts that prove that so, but this is more philosophical than political.

I think Republicans and Democrats bashing each other like a schoolyard fight is unwanted political talk. I am in a political forum and I am totally turned off by trivializing the points of argument, or people bashing each other with insults.

For me, there is an important difference. And when it comes to war, I am fighting for the lives of women and children around the world, and our young. Repeating Vietnam again and again, and electing presidents who promise us peace and put us in a war, is not tolerable. In the 60's, we said, "If you aren't part of the solution, you are part of the problem".

I want to believe in the New Age and that because we have far more information than ever before, humanity can do better. I want to be part of that.

You can click on those 3 small horizontal lines in top left of your screen, and then, choose Your threads, to easily view the ones you start, to catch up on anything.
 
Don't know where to place this comment. I suppose here is as good as any. Politics is not an issue here. Well it is, I suppose, because Governments get involved in moral issues. Which they shouldn't because they are no more qualify then you or I to determine solutions. Issue's of law are another matter which they are elected to oversee and rule on. Religion, religious belief was separated in the constitution of the US because of the influence of religion over the state,
1st Amendment says “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…”.
Intent was to govern the ability of the state to dictate what you believed or how you believed. Pretty fair and simple.
The world has changed since those words were spoken but the law remains in the 1st amendment. No one, no law, no state can restrict you from worshipping in the manner that you choose.
The problems arise when we want the state, I repeat, we want the state to step in on our behalf and settle an issue in our favor. A moral issue that the state has no experience, knowledge or understanding to decide. They do on so many occasions but the results are the same. Confusion, disbelief and total disrespect for the legal process.
Rightfully so I might say.
This may sound harsh but here it is. Don't want the baby then get it terminated. Do want the baby then nuture it and bring it up with love.
I, or anyone else cannot dictate how you should live. I may not agree with you. I may think you need help, but your life is the one you live. The law can't protect you from you. You want the Gov. to step in but it can't and really shouldn't. It tries but rarely succeeds. Some may disagree with that statement but that's a subject for another discussion.
We live in a world now where government dictates moral issues. We live in a world where no one is accountable for their own choices. We live in a world where someone else is to blame for our bad decisions.
We live in a world now where those,who understand the difference between legal and moral choices, foot the bill for those who do not.
Thank the Lord for the fact that those who understand can foot the bill for all this.

I'm not into discussing such anyhow, but see some posts not just here but elsewhere that seem to be political.

It's a difficult subject to avoid w/some topics so I get it.

Just feeling it out as to what is allowed.

As far as recovery and the PDR, and psychosis well... A bit beyond what I was asking.

Yeah, I was having too much fun getting carried away with politics as a mental disorder. But now that I think about it in a more rational way, I'm thinking I might be on to something. :)
