awwww.. CS....awwww... I'm so sorry for the loss of your dearest friend ...🤗... but at least you got there for his last few minutes here on earth.. he was waiting for you , do you think ?

My plans for yesterday were screwed up and it may be the same for today. My son didn't go to work yesterday and got up late. I'd been up most of the middle of the night, so I fell asleep by daylight and didn't wake up until he was leaving to go produce shopping. It was then that I discovered we have a leak over the sink and called my neighbor upstairs. I've had leaks because of her before, but we've always handled things amicably and remained friends.

Yesterday, she got snippy with me when I asked her to check under her sink. She said she was going out and would check later, complained about what they charged her the last time her leak affected me, told me me to take it up at a board meeting, then hung up. I think she's 89 now, so maybe she's gotten old and crochety.

I also called .management and spoke with Renee, my contact there She said she'd reach out to someone and get back to me, but I haven't heard back from her yet. I have her cell # so I'm going to text her pictures I took this morning and let her know the leak has gotten worse (its moved to areas over the counter). I never heard back from my neighbor either. If nothing is done by the time management is on site today starting at 3 p.m., I'll go to the community room and speak to Renee in person.

Not knowing if someone was going to come in to check my kitchen, I didn't do laundry even though my machines are set up. The dryer is in the kitchen and it gets quite hot in there when I'm drying clothes, so I didn't want to subject any repair person to that. I won't be able to do it today either unless someone comes in early. They'll have to go upstairs, detect where the leak is coming from and work in my neighbor's apartment first. In the meantime, my son and I had to move some things out of a couple of cabinets and off the counter.

One thing I'm glad we accomplished yesterday was clipping Deja's nails. She has been trying to "make biscuits" on me more often lately and I've had to stop her from puncturing me. She can do it to her hearts content now, at least for a couple of weeks. 🐱

Well it's been really hot here today ..72 deg f... but it's veen hotter in my sun trap of a garden...

I went out and finished trimming off the high hedges which I started yesterday.... and I had to come back in and put a sleeveless top on, it was so warm.

..it's all done now and everything put away.... it's 4pm... so time for me to sit down and ease my back..

My lilacs are in full bloom.. I have 2 types, one is a true lilac colour and the other a deep red/purple...

and these are the lilac coloured ones. I took this photo last night just at twilight. My phone doesn't like it when it's dark but I thought getting the picture before it gets dark.. might be ok... so it turned out not too bad...

thanks for your concern HL.... but I have little choice... I've alwys done it myself.. or the X did it sometimes.. and then in the last 2 years I've had a gardener.. but he's just moved to the other side of the county... so I'm back doing it myself, at least until I find another affordable gardener, which isn't easy... :D

Good morning peeps of SF... on another beautiful sunny day 🌞 🌞

It's sunny again today but much cooler than yesterdy with brisk wind... thank goodness I got all that gardening done yesterday,

I'm Staying home today... my dd is due to call in the next few minutes in her lunch hour as she does a couple of times a week....

I broke down a piece of furniture yesterday, and tomorrow hopefully I'll get it taken to the tip...

Other that, no immediate plans...

Thoughts are with @CinnamonSugar today after the recent loss of her partner... 🤗

Morning all, what a difference a day makes, yesterday a beautiful,sunny day high was 74
On usual early walk at 6:50, was breezy, temp was 63 as I walked up the street halfway turned around walked back around the building complex before breakfast,
My plans today, taking the Gates van at 1,going with 2 other residents to local grocery store, Wegmans. The van goes every Tues at 1, I go at the beginning and end of the month
The rest of my day read yesterday & today's NYT, tackle both crossword puzzles
After dinner tune to watch local pro hockey team, Buffalo Sabres hopefully eliminate Boston Bruins from 1st round. Sabres lead 3 games to 1. If they win, it will be the 1st time in 20yrs, the team will advance to the 2nd round of playoffs

That's the worst! In the renovating of this house, the damage that has been found from water leaks/infiltration has made me absolutely paranoid and OCD about water leaks. I feel for you, especially since you are dependent on others' cooperation for repairs. Argh!
 
Got up, had coffee with wife, went to the gym.

Items for today are:

1) Mow postage-stamp sized back yard, pull weeds and trim bushes. Raining now so we'll see about this one.

2) Finish 964-page long book I've been attacking for weeks. About 85 pages to go.

3) Do assignment for drawing class tomorrow.

4) (Maybe) hit some golf balls if it stops raining.

Given the weather, only 2) and 3) look feasible today. No big deal, I can do them tomorrow.
