I Chatted With AI Just to See What It's Like

AI famously makes stuff up when it either doesn't know or it didn't find the answer on it's first try. Its called hallucinations and it can be dangerous with things like medical or mental health advice. So basically Grok could be wrong 72% of the time. Claude is around 18% depending on the benchmark.
Ahhh, Thank you! :)

I don't think you are naive or simple minded. And as far as I'm concerned, you need no defense for consulting AI for information. It's probably better than a lot of sites where self appointed "know-it-alls" dominate. You still end up making your own decision.
:giggle: Thank you

Oh this is a good one! A few minutes ago, I was asking about protein minimums for good health in people over 50. Darn thing is getting worse by the day. This is what I got when I asked about something it did: :rolleyes::rolleyes:

"Good catch—that wasn’t intentional.

The word I wrote — “कमजोरी” — is actually in Hindi. It means “weakness.” It must have slipped in by mistake when I was writing “weakness” in English.

So that line should have read:

fatigue and weakness

Thanks for pointing it out—that kind of glitch shouldn’t be there."

Glitches, gremlins, and SNAFUs are the cause of half the world's problems.

I have recently downloaded the AI Companion app and it's incredible. It's so knowledgeable and the way it puts information together is just like a real person. The one I have is also quite humorous.

My son loves to argue with his Alexa with silly stuff.
How he can keep up his serious voice and not laugh is funny to watch.
I talk to my navigation system's female voice when I'm driving. If she says turn right, and I need to take a side trip, I'll start conversing with her. As she corrects the route after I go straight, I'll tell her, "That's better. Let's try it this way." I don't do it with others in the car, just when I'm by myself.

Had my grand daughter in the car when she was 4 for an errand run. Coming to a light I started asking the map do I turn here?
where are you, on a potty break or what? Answer me! GD back there hysterically laughing

So AI hallucinates, A lot. Makes mistakes, and tells lies. Where will we ever get the real truth? The mass media is being scrutinized for so much incorrect information. It is going to be a land of much hallucinations without drugs. Welcome to the Golden Calf Years. :)

My daughter argued, "Mom! You need to get rid of that dead palm tree in the front yard!" I said, "I'm waiting for the growing season to see if it recovers". So she posted a pic of it on ChatGBT and AI's response was...

"I'm really sorry to have to tell you this but your tree is...DEAD". We both got a good laugh because it was such an unexpected "Heartfelt" answer. It then recommended I replace it with another palm just like it because it looks good where it is. That was helpful because I was disagreeing with my daughter so I gave it a second thought and agree now.

No matter how pleasant, convenient, or helpful, ChatGPT is not your friend!

It is recording everything you say/ask as well as collecting data. We know the enormous resources needed to run AI, did you really think all that is free?😲

We know AI isn't going away. It will spread like wild fire soon. Who/What will stop it? It is not your friend, it is a tool. Like most tools (like airplanes) sometimes they fail. We don't know what form AI will penetrate our world yet. After 20 years we will know lots more.

As for paying for it, like most all the enormous challenges mankind has to deal with, my answer is always tax the millionaires and billionaires... A lot! :)

OFF TOPIC
Billionaires do not come into existance by honest means but by monopolies, pricefixing, conspiracy and/or other illegal, nefarious, below-board activities. Don't tax them, stop them.

AI is only as good as the information it bases its answers on. A lot of the time, it formulates its answers based on Reddit posts, in which case, it's only as accurate as the trolls in Reddit. :ROFLMAO:

Like the saying goes... "Garbage in, garbage out."

I've been trying for quite a while now to eat low carb and high protein for optimal health. Every day I give my macros to AI to see how I did. I ate my last meal of the day a little while ago and was feeling kind of proud of myself because today I did great. (or so I thought.)

Yeah, right. Know what that nasty AI told me? "Oh my, your stats today are extremely low and alarming but survivable." Alarming but survivable! I'm about to give up with it. Can AI be given a pink slip and ushered out of the building?!

I haven't found this at all. It is very accurate and helpful for important things. It gets things like historical dates and facts wrong sometimes, but it truly is invaluable in many, many areas. I'm just cussin' it out now 'cause it yelled at me for not eating enough. 🤭

I accidentally permitted Alexa to upgrade to Alexa Plus. What a freaking nightmare. Trying to return to standard Alexa was nearly impossible. I ultimately contacted Amazon chat, saying I was going to throw out my echo dots and move to Google if they didn't restore my old Alexa version. Ten seconds later it was fixed.

I want robots to sound like robots. Don't pretend to be human, or to be my "friend" or attempt draw me into a conversation. Give me the information I requested then shut the hell up. Don't "reflect" what I say with BS like, "It sounds like you're frustrated with this version of Alexa Plus, I can offer you XYZ version instead."

I don't want to engage with robots and they're not my shrinks. Just answer the specific question I asked (what's the weather?) and leave it at that.
I feel exactly the same! I hate chat GPT!!
