Have been eating more than I'd like simply because supermarket bought frozen packaged food sizes are more than I would choose to eat and cannot be easily divided up. Well actually am considering experimenting trying to saw some of the packages in 2 with my hand coping saw? Some of the dry foods like Knorr Rice Sides, Broccoli and Cheddar Cheese, can divide up after pouring into a container, shaking thoroughly, then dividing into 2 portions.

Have a notion to drive the 335 miles to Mammoth Lakes for spring skiing at $100 for each of 2 days. However roundtrip, that is about 26 gallons of gasoline. Our cheapest stations nearby are $5.30/gallon and $4.30 in Nevada where I could fill up for most of the distance. So that is $115. I could avoid any lodging costs, by sleeping in my car, but that is still $315 for this financial peon. :(

By this Thursday mid day, completed the HTML coding I've been mentioning for weeks. Thus, looks like tomorrow will be uploading 6 new pages plus updates, on a total of 130 older html files. After that, I always need to actually open the 6 new pages and check that all non-local links actually work.

Years ago, the only way one could place an apostrophe like in the word ... don't ... was to code it as &#39s but that was changed a few years ago to just a ' . So one task I did last, was search all 136 files and change all the codes to apostrophe's that makes the raw code easier to read. Also, beside lifeform common names that I bold, had lots of italicized Latin scientific names for plants/animals while not capitalizing the first letter of the Genus. So had to search for all those too that in html are between <i>abc</i>. Lots more work like that, haha.

So as an excuse for a celebration, yes will yet again go out this late afternoon to enjoy some outdoor live cover band music that looks like another 100 minutes away.

Good morning, just wanted to pop my head in, so to speak, to say hello. As Mother's Day approaches my mood is steadily getting worse and I'm more tempted to just lurk. I keep trying to focus on the fact that I have excellent relationships with my two daughters, but I spent a chunk of time yesterday watching old YouTube videos my son and his best friend made back in high school. That was a mistake.

Anyway—my workload is still light, so I need to focus today on errands, some boring work-related tasks that I've been putting off for months, maybe cleaning the refrigerator. There is a lot that needs to be done. I must resist my urge to lie about and be lazy!

@OneEyedDiva, you have my sympathy. I had to deal with a leak in an apartment once, and it was NOT fun. I spent several weeks with the ceiling of my bathroom literally torn apart. Good luck.

@hollydolly, what a start to your day! My stomach was knotting up just reading your post. I hope things got easier after that.

I hope everyone is well and having a good day.
Thank you KSav. This ain't my first rodeo either, so I'm remaining calm. The managing agent emailed me today informing me that the plumber is coming tomorrow morning at 9:00. The residents in the three buildings on my side that will be affected by the water shut off so the work can be done were notified of the shut off today. We are hoping that the work can be done in one day.

I gather from your first paragraph that you lost your son (?). Is he the handsome young man in your profile picture? My heart goes out to you and I will keep you and your family in prayer. I do so quite often for parents and grandparents who have lost their children (grandchildren). I know too many!! I hope your daughters will do something that will make your Mothers' Day less painful.

Thanks so much for your very kind words, @OneEyedDiva, but my son is in fact alive and well; however, he hasn't spoken to me in nearly 7 years. (And yes, that is him, back in high school, in my profile pic.) The estrangement is totally my fault.

I know the pain is nothing compared to that experienced by parents who have actually lost a child. I didn't mean to misrepresent myself.

I am glad to hear the plumber will be there soon, and I hope he repairs the leak quickly and efficiently! 🚰

Thanks again for the kind words. People here have been very kind and understanding. 🤗

An estrangement is still a loss KSav, but I'm glad he's alive. My son and late DIL lost their first child. He was a boy who was the spitting image of my son. Now their second child, who remains close with me, is so angry with my son that he refuses to speak to him. It's complicated, but in a way, I understand why...so I'm Switzerland. I love them both...they're both grown, so it's for them to work out. I did my best to help my grandson see the situation from a different perspective and at least speak with his father if only to air his grievances, but that did not work. Now I'm done with it.

I'm still hoping your daughters can make Mothers' Day a good day for you.

Good Morning Peeps of SF.... 🌞 🌞 another glorious sunny morning here....

I was hoping to hear from the garage this morning about getting my car down for it's MOT... but nothing so far, and it's past 10am..... I'll ring them shortly and see what's going on.
I'd go somewhere else but I paid online upfront for this MOT.. and it's holiday weekend now, and I'm unable to go anywhere... unless I use public transport..

Have the best Friday you can folks...🌼🍄

Came home from hospital yesterday afternoon. It seems that the veins from my left arm that were sewn together to be implanted in my left leg showed signs of narrowing. After only a month! So a stent was inserted to keep it from closing.

Ive never been a person who lived in hope.

It was too much for me. I broke down. Yesterday in morning. I want to stay home for awhile. I made three weeks. I’m resisting going with the flow. Old is one thing but losing health is a psychological disaster for me.

Supposed to go back to surgeon in 2 weeks. I may make that a wee longer. Just a wee.

Having aides in also bothers me. I’m a private person. Getting new aide today. A bureaucratic thing.

Oy vay es mir

I hate this for you and I'm wishing you strength of a lion. 🐅

Another nice day here. It's so quiet and feels like a Saturday. I know it's not Saturday because the 'bin men' came round as scheduled and if the mobile fishmonger comes round this afternoon, I'll definitely know it is Friday. Still, it's puzzling why it's so quiet - I wonder if I've missed something.

A mixed day of gardening and interior decorating. Scotch egg and salad for dinner.

Morning all, on early walk at 6:50 temp was 38 as the sun was peaking out of the clouds. My new route of late is walking behind 3 building driveways, then walked back down street around our building complex. I've seen a few more people out now either running or walking their dogs
My plans today, weekly Fri exercise class at 10,do my monthly money journal how much I spent in April{mostly in cash}, been keeping track of this for years, I'm having church friends, Bruce&Kate for lunch at 12:15, perfect way to start the month, they've been here a couple of times. I always like to invite friends/ church friends over because my monthly food allowance goes down more quickly. Whatever amount I have at the end of each month, I can;t roll it over
The rest of my day, read today's NYT, read my book. I hope to get afternoon walk in before the rain comes
Everybody have a great day

Good morning to everyone. It is going to be 90 degrees today. It rained a small amount yesterday but fingers crossed it is supposed to rain Saturday with more of a chance. We are in a drought condition.

We are going to get gasoline today and the price is higher at $4.30 a gallon. Afterward going to get something for lunch.

I hope all of you stay well and enjoy your day. :)

Holiday? What holiday?

@KSav It's so difficult. It isn't global warming that is causing a rise in the oceans. It is the tears of parent/adult child estrangements.
Quote : ''Holiday ..what holiday ''?...lol... are you forgetting this is England not the US....? We have a Bank holiday for the 1st of May ( May day)... which stretches over until Tuesday... ..then we have another longer holiday at the end of May... just so you can keep track

UK bank holidays

It's just after 3.30pm .....I've been out.. to the park... having a lovely stroll with my friend.. 🌞 🌞

I'd remember that I had a click & collect waiting in the stre .. 6 miles away... my friend came over and we went and collected it.. then we had a little stroll around the park afterwards..

I've booked my MOT with another garage. I called the first garage, asked what the state of play was , he said, he'd ring around other branches and get me booked in and he would call back in 5 or 10 minutes... he never called back... so that's 2 days in a row he hasn't called when he said he would... so I've got it booked in with a different garage.. but they can't do it until Tuesday because of the hoilday...
