As if Europeans know where all the states are in America. Lol we had a tv program about Dutch people who always went to Spain, Benidorm on a holiday and had to point where it was on a map. One woman had been going there for 25 years, 3 times a year.

Point well taken. I have nothing against Canada, have been there many times and think it's a great country.

But I get really tired of one particular SFer and his constant US-bashing, even when the topic has nothing to do with the US.

So apologies for the Canada comment, but no apologies otherwise.
Thanks. I totally understand what you’re saying.

Come on folks! Canada and the United States are neighbors and friends! Watch a hockey game and notice how we sing each other's national anthem.
My Son in New York has been going to some sports events there.
He says they sing both the American and the Canadian Athems at their events.
I think that is wonderful.

I do see some of the bashing statements here at the forum.
I try to ignore them but it is hard. Hince my map post.
Why can't we just be kind to each other.
There is so much content here to particpate in, all that is unnecessary.

I think our standards for those in leadership positions are far too low. Hungary is coming out of a 16 year rule, there is much work to be done. As such, this fool showing his dance moves is just sad. Everything is so dumbed down today.......

If you want to get elected, it seems like this is what you have to do. Create memes. Smart ass replies. As they say, appeal to the lowest common denominator.

Agreed. It's a true sign of the times. We expect so very little, and then complain when even that standard isn't met. Hungary have a serious set of problems to conquer, but this is what gets attention. It's sad.

I would imagine everyone in Hungary is dancing now that Orban is gone. I see nothing wrong with politicians having a bit of fun as long as they are competent to do the job at hand. Seems he is.

As of May 2026, Dr. Zsolt Hegedűs is the incoming Minister of Health in Hungary following the landslide election victory of Péter Magyar’s Tisza Party. A former orthopaedic surgeon with over 10 years of experience in the UK's NHS, Hegedűs became a viral sensation for his energetic "victory dance" on stage after the election and the subsequent inauguration of Prime Minister Magyar.

Key details about the new Health Minister include:
  • Role & Appointment: Confirmed as the top healthcare expert for the Tisza Party in July 2025 and designated as Minister of Health in a new government.
  • Background: Graduated from Semmelweis University in 1994, specializing in orthopaedics.
  • Viral Sensation: Often referred to as "Bulibáró" (Party Baron) in the Hungarian press for his celebrations.
  • Political Shift: His appointment is part of the new government that ended Viktor Orbán’s 16-year rule

He is the in charge of health in Hungary. We can compare that to the guy in charge of our health in the US. I'd rather see someone dance around in a suit than a baked potato work out shirtless in jeans.

As I say, standards are low.

I mean, why shouldn't he have fun, he's done absolutely nothing thus far.

Those of us in the US have gotten so used to a level of awfulness and incompetence that anything that isn't offensive seems acceptable.
Not acceptable to me.
I almost expect people here at the forum to be polite to each other...If one can not do that ...move on to another thread. No need to comment.

Like I said there is enough content posted here to keep us all busy for most of the rest of our lives.
There must be something they are interested in besides what country someone else lives in.
🤗

I was referring to our politicians, not the folks in the forums. The OP referred to a politician dancing.
