After @Mitch86's post about death, it got me to thinking

squatting dog

Remember when... thirty seemed so old.
more about it and I tried putting my thoughts to song. Let me know what you think. I still sound too nasal.

After pricing a session in a local recording studio, estimate around $750, (now I miss Gordon more), I used my friend (D's, I'm glad she hasn't moved yet), setup... Revocalize AI with DAW... (Digital Audio Workstation)... and software. I have one I call... "Final Trip".

FINAL TRIP... A journey we all get to make but for which none of us are yet packed. So... Travel light... Eyes and throttle wide open. No need for mirrors. It's The ultimate road trip. God Speed to you.

(verse 1 slight reverb)
When I come to the end of my road,
And the sun's finally setting on me.
I want no tears, to fill up the room,
know this my darlin', my body's pain free.

(Pre-Chorus)
Miss me a little, I know that you will,
But don’t hang your head to cry.
Remember the love that we both shared,
smile that smile, and tell me goodbye.

(Chorus - soft pedal steel)
Miss me, yeah, miss me, then let me go,
it's the journey, we must take alone.
So miss me, yes, miss me,
know that it's time for me to go home....

(music interlude)

(Verse 2 - piano)
If nights feel too long, and your heart feels so cold,
just look to the clouds, as they drift by.
and know that I'm watching, from heaven above,
Hold on to our memories, don't let them just die.

(Bridge)
We each walk this path alone yeah someday,
No one can make the journey for you.
But the love that we shared along the way,
Is the light that will carry me through....

(Chorus - soft pedal steel)
Miss me, yeah, miss me, then let me go,
It's the journey, we must take alone.
So miss me, yes,miss me,
know that it's time for me to go home....

(sad instrumental swell)

(Outro – softer, a whisper)
so, when I come to the end of this road,
you'll still feel me here, this I know.
For Our love, has no end, so smile,
yeah smile, and just let me go.

(sad music fade)

What a beautiful song!!! I really like it. It reminds me of that old one "You gotta walk that lonesome valley", and personalized!! :)

I was wondering if AI helped you make it. If so what parts are AI? Did it help with the songs arrangement and chords? It sounds like professional musicians and audio engineers helped with the final song. Did they come to your house? :)

@squatting dog Your songs are so full of heart and human feelings.
Your words pretty well sum up what my late hubby discussed with me before he passed and really
choked me up - in a good way. Because he is with me still after all this time and has kept
me strong to keep going.
So many who have lost a deep love will love this song it is sad but it is encouraging at the same time.
I am lucky that when I remarried years later I have a man who understands what myself and late hubby went
through together and takes no pain or offense when I talk about him. I have been blessed in many ways.
You just don't forget those you loved like that and shouldn't be stopped from remembering them or feel
bad if you do. That person helped make you who you are and if it is good, that is even better.

While I'd love to take all the credit and swell up my head, ;), all the real credit belongs to my lady friend (D). She has that DAW system, and plays a mean guitar, and has some talented friends that play different instruments. After using a studio, and comparing, I can now see where Ai is probably going to take over. (can't say if that's good or bad). It's hard to believe that a simple software program and a computer keyboard can accomplish all this.

What Can You Do with DAW software? Record your singing (or instruments) Apply Auto-Tune, pitch correction, reverb, compression, EQ, etc. Edit audio (cut, move, layer tracks)
Add beats, loops, or virtual instruments Mix multiple tracks together (vocals + drums + guitar, etc.) Master the final song.

Plus, she has an additional program called "voice beautification" to make your singing sound more polished and natural. (You can tell we didn't use that feature as the wife likes my natural voice).

One of the major advantages of DAWs is non-destructive editing. This means that any changes you make to a clip or track are applied as layers on top of the original data. If you decide you don’t like a particular edit, you can simply revert to the original recording without any loss of quality.

I was working on another song that I've been re-writing for my darling daughter... we'll see how that goes.

As with all of your songs I've heard, that was beautiful!
