Hi there! I just joined as I retired from being a school administrator for 22 years! I still teach (Spanish) part time. I am married, and have no kids. I am looking for some pen pals (yeah, I actually would send you a card! You'd get something in the mail that's not a bill!) PM me if you would like to write.

When it is NOT cold, I love my garden, I like walking (right now I go to a fitness center and 'do' the treadmill).

I am interested in history, the American Civil War (I love Downton Abbey and Mercy Street-My Sunday nights are set!):cool:

The system shows you are now "on-line". Perhaps I can catch you before you leave. No option is shown on your profile page to send you a Private Message. That is what I attempted to do. So, could not "PM" you, as you suggested. A fluke of new membership, or....I do not know.

Shalimar, I love Canada. Whereabouts? My grandfather was born in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. My mom's side of the family founded Quebec!
 
Hi, Lydia, from a former Wisconsinite. Or a Yooper. Choose one. I was born on the Michigan side of the state line because that's where the hospital was, but my parents took me home to Wisconsin. Maybe I'm a native of both places. In either case, my hometown(s) are so far north that we called it "South Canada"!

And you're right. Wisconsin is cold. It's cold down here, too. The local news at 5 said 51F. Frost tonight. Wind chill in the teens tomorrow. And...maybe sNOw early next week. If God had wanted me to be cold, She wouldn't have led me here:mad: Apparently Mother Nature and El Nino didn't get the memo.
 
It is snowing now.....:(
