The Seven Samurai, still one of my favorites, watched it again tonight for the umpteen time ….as always the peasants win, the peasants always win…. this is a classic, they remade the show in the sixties as a western and it was good as well, nothing beats the original...

Love The Magnificent Seven. Great film. Never seen the classic version of the samurai.

I highly recommend Seven Samurai, Chic, written and directed by Akira Kurosawa. Japanese character actor Tashiro Mifune plays a major role, and I believe it's the role that brought him recognition in the west. It's a story of struggle against hard times and lawlessness in 16th-Century Japan; a village of poor rice farmers subjected to frequent raids by harvest-time bandits recruits seven unemployed samurai to help them defend themselves.

I loved a Mifune film titled Hell In The Pacific, in which Lee Marvin was his co-star. Only those two wonderful actors throughout the film, and Marvin's best, imo.
