GREENE COUNTY, Ga. —
A Greene County teacher is in trouble after a girl recorded him allegedly answering her question by calling her "the dumbest girl I have ever met."
Shaniaya Hunter, a junior at Green County High School, has an eye condition that sometimes has kept her out of class.
In December, she was trying to catch up right before a test and asked the teacher a question.
The teacher allegedly said, "I have been around for 37 years and clearly, you are the dumbest girl that I have ever met."
Hunter was recording a lesson on a school-issued iPad when the teacher said things about her she'll never forget.
The teacher also allegedly told Hunter, "You know what your purpose going to be? To have sex and have children, because you ain't gonna never be smart."
"It really hurt me inside," Hunter said...........

A lot of teachers like most other people are in/working a job for money. They view their customers or in this case the student as the enemy. This is their mindset. Have teachers in the family and they basically look at the students as the enemy. There are some frustrating problems to deal with but in the end they hate their job. They're competent and can do it but just don't like it. But they realize they have it pretty good working in a public school with a union negotiated contract.

I'm wondering how the union rep will justify this.

One of my daughters is a teacher. She gets frustrated at times but more at parents than students. She isn't that jaded, but she has only been teaching 3 years

The person here got a teaching degree and certification, started subbing etc then left for business world then followed a tip on a real good paying teaching job & location. Starting complaining with in a few years, now less than 10 years from retirement they can't wait to leave. They gone back and fourth between high school and grammar school in various teaching and administrative positions. They too blame parents in many cases.

I agree in this day and age talking to a student like that is unacceptable. Then again dumb as the teacher was that was pretty mild really. My sister in law went to Catholic school in the years before Vatican II. She has hair raising stories about what nuns got away with. Never mind my mother in law used to tell her kids " If the nuns have to punish you, you'll get it worse when you get home!". Yeeps I would have never survived.

I went to Catholic school for 3 years in the early 60's. The nuns were newly arrived from Ireland and well trained in the art of torture!

"NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! Our chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise.... Our two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency.... Our *three* weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope.... Our *four*...no... *Amongst* our weapons.... Amongst our weaponry...are such elements as fear, surprise.... I'll come in again."

Monty Python skit

LOL - NOBODY expects the Catholic Inquisition!

My daughter did tell me she had one student that would loudly & consistently disrupt class & then goad her and goad her while she knew he was holding his cell phone to record her reactions to the goading. Even had that teacher been set up like that those words should have never come out. A teacher has to have self control over what comes out of their mouth.

I got it all the time LOL. You know how you think what you do in confession can't be told to anyone? WRONG. Once my step mother made me go to confession & this is what happened..

Me: Forgive me father for I have sinned. My mother made me come here last week.
( I confess some stuff)

Father Freeman:Ok say 10 Hail Mary's blah blah

Me: How do you know what my punishment should be?

Him: The Holy Spirit guides me

Me: Then why didn't it tell you I was lying?

Then.... I get home and my step mother is waiting with a belt

ahhh the memories :p
