Does Anyone Else Enjoy Graphic Novels?

Just for those not familiar with the genre...I'm not talking about dirty bookslayful: Graphic novels are stories done in a cartoonish style. Although many of them have very detailed illustrations indeed. Some of them are classic books, biographies, history, fiction. They're usually in the teen section of the library but one of my guilty pleasures.

Today I found one called "The Dogs of War". I'm a history buff and a dog lover perfect! It was the stories of three different pups from WWI, WWII and Vietnam. Another one was I believe called " El Deafo". A memoir of a girl who loses her hearing and creates a superhero side of herself to cope.

Two of my all time favorites are "Larceny in my Blood" and " Rover, Red, Charlie". Both of those titles are graphically graphic...I have to warn you.

My son is really into those. I'm not. I do do some youthful reading though I'm reading the last of the Artemis Fowl series. I'm a kid at heart

Kids books can be timeless, one I have to reread some day is "The Phantom Tollbooth".

And so many more. When the artist does a good job and tells the story in pictures its an awesome thing.
My kids have all The Wallking Dead novels.michael Moore the artist,his work is amazing.

I've read Persepolis too, yayyy...next time I go to the library I'll write down some titles. They can be like potato chips, I'll munch two books in one sitting so the titles get away from me.

Short reviews- "Larceny" is a man who's whole family has always scammed one way or another. Then after repeated incarcerations and chemicals son realizes he can do what they couldn't...write really well.

"Rover" is the human apocalypse and a few dog buddies who try to survive on their own together. <<<Spoiler Alert>>>



They succeed...even despite the evil fighting dog and manic humans. Even on three legs...Oh and "Spit pots" are cats, perfect or what?
