Just for those not familiar with the genre...I'm not talking about dirty books
layful: Graphic novels are stories done in a cartoonish style. Although many of them have very detailed illustrations indeed. Some of them are classic books, biographies, history, fiction. They're usually in the teen section of the library but one of my guilty pleasures.
Today I found one called "The Dogs of War". I'm a history buff and a dog lover perfect! It was the stories of three different pups from WWI, WWII and Vietnam. Another one was I believe called " El Deafo". A memoir of a girl who loses her hearing and creates a superhero side of herself to cope.
Two of my all time favorites are "Larceny in my Blood" and " Rover, Red, Charlie". Both of those titles are graphically graphic...I have to warn you.
