It's all over the news here, as the rural area it happened is the next county over, about 45 min from here. The foster mother, Larson, is a Supervisor with Union County Department of Social Services, and her b/f, Harper, who lives with her, is an emergency room nurse. Both are in their mid to late 50's.
Interesting they are allowed to foster all these children, living together, and not married. Union County has been known for many years for their gross shortcomings and lack of decent care for kids. Can't tell you how many times there has been trouble there for similar situations, a few far worse in that children were placed back in homes they had been removed from and the children murdered. I can remember several within the last 5 years....just an awful reputation! Their department needs a total and complete overhaul via our Governor!
I'm sure with this couple it directly relates to receiving income from the State, certainly not out of anything resembling providing a good home for these kids. It's sickening and especially hard to imagine this gross mistreatment from a woman in her position. And the man being a nurse is surprising, as most have tremendous compassion. These 2 could be shot at sunrise and it wouldn't bother me at all. Not only have they lost their jobs, and ruined their lives, but they will serve time I'm sure, but not nearly enough to suit me! And I'm glad to read that all the children have been removed from that **** County.
And this parent actually worked for social services!
