Maybe it's nothing... but on the other hand.....

I think I must be a hypochondriac... or maybe the fact that I do have a medical background gets in my way.. BUT...

I have lost 30 pounds.. my legs seem to have lost the most.. ANYWAY.. the other night I was applying lotion and felt a small lump on my right thigh.. it's about the size of a nickel and is sort of deep seated. It's moveable, and it's painless.. So my mind is going to liposarcoma... of course.. which is rare, but is usually on the thigh or arm.. Not even considering the much more common lipoma... which is just a benign fat lump..

Anyone else finding more lumps and bumps? Or do I just spend too much time worrying..

PS.... I have a Doctor appointment on the 28th and will have it looked at.

I have lumps all over, on my thighs, arms, ribs and some hurt when you touch them. I was told some of them are fatty tumors or whatever...I have a lot of them, though. I guess I associate mine with having extra weight? I'm not sure if that is true, though.

When I was younger I felt a bump under my rib cage the doc just felt it and said don't worry about it. It hasn't got bigger or anything yet he never said what it was.

I've noticed the " skinny leg syndrome". I've always been athletic and blessed they still carry me where I need to go...but they turn more into matchsticks every year, what's up with that? But really don't get too wacky over lumps and bumps. I had surgery for leg veins twice. There are always weird bumps going on, sometimes painful. First thought is always something serious like thrombosis...until it goes away and something else hurts. But always check with the doc to make sure.

I've shown my troublesome lump to TWO doctors.. My Internist.. and My dermatologist.. Both think it's a Lipoma.. My internist drew a line around it and measured it and marked it down in my records.. He will "watch" it, but really believes it's benign.. When I mentioned liposarcoma to him he rolled his eyes and told me to stay off the internet.. Yeah.. like THAT will happen.

Yeah, my doc told me once to beware of Dr. Google, too. I get weird about skin things since my dad had such a problem with skin cancer.

I'm Weird about all medical things.. Maybe because, as they say, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. I freak when I notice anything out of the ordinary.

The loss of weight plus the lumps could be symptomatic of one of the Autoimmune Diseases. A Complete Blood Work Up CBC might solve the problem.

Nah... Weight loss was intentional.... thanks to 6 months of Weight Watchers and an exercise program..

I hope it's nothing QS. I've had a reddish mole type thing I suspected might be cancerous years ago on my shoulder and they told me it was nothing to worry about. It really hasn't changed in appearance, but when I go in for a check-up every couple of years I mention it and they say it's fine. BTW, kudos on your weight loss, that's quite an accomplishment, well done!

You did very well on your diet and exercise program, good for you! The doctors could be wrong, however if both are saying the same thing, they're probably right, don't you think? If you still have doubts, maybe they can do a biopsy. Tell your dr you would prefer to have it removed.
