There are millions of Illegal Aliens living and working in the USA with a huge number of them working for cash and sending some of that money back to their country of origin. They pay no US Income tax on what they earn mean while receiving a number of benefits and services gratis. This is particularly true with Hispanics primarily. Why shouldn't the U.S. confiscate all those funds that are wired out of the U.S that go to the ultimate benefit of the Mexican economy? There are many Mexican American CITIZENS that work hard and wire money to Mexico to help family living there and I have no problem with that at all.
Illegals, be they Mexican or any other nationality that are in this country have no rights and are illegal.

You could say that with this system, Mexico would indeed be paying for the wall.
 

Do you have a costing for the wall and for the savings that you have identified by confiscating people's savings?

How would the banking system tell the difference between Mexican American citizens and undocumented ones?
Would Big Brother have to vet the bank accounts of all people born in Mexico to allow a transaction or to confiscate the money?

How would that go down with freedom loving American citizens who happen to have been born outside of the USA especially those who emigrated to escape from governmental tyranny and oppressive surveillance?

Lon, I feel you are bending over backwards to justify a very impractical promise of Donald Trump and I can see no way that it can be justified in any practical or fair way.
 
Lon, forget the wall, it is just a knee jerk talking point that's brought up to stir emotion.

As for the illegal immigrants, they earn their money, unscrupulous employers frequently collect income taxes but don't turn the collected taxes over to the state and feds.

The U.S. economy is dependent upon workers that make sub-standard wages, the wall will have to wait until technology can replace all the illegal workers that make produce production possible.

They would not be here if it weren't for the fact, hired by us for cheap labor. GB said they're here doing jobs Americans don't want to do. Laws weren't enforced because lobbyists got to our Congress, that's why they could not agree on what to do with a situation they allowed to spiral out of control. All that bunk about a struggle to secure our border was just that, bunk. Stop hiring them and they will go home. If they allowed them to apply for benefits without proof of documentation, then our system is screwed up. I will say this, we still should be humane and make sure they have food to eat. The US needs to accept some responsibility for this problem then correct it. We need to do what is fair, under the circumstances. This should be a one-time thing, so in the future anyone here illegally should be sent back. This should not have been something for anyone to build a campaign around and cause division amongst our citizens. It should have been settled in Congress. I wonder why it wasn't? They need to make some new laws so they can be followed, then be done with it.
 
The Agriculture and food processing industries are the biggest "draw" for these illegal aliens....and BOTH have powerful Lobbies in Washington. Long ago, Americans ceased to show any interest in going out into the farm fields and harvesting lettuce, etc., which is very labor intensive. The beef, pork and poultry processing plants also require vast numbers of people to butcher and carve up the meat for our grocery stores....another hard, and dirty task that Americans seem to not be interested in. I suppose if these industries offered wages of $25+ per hour, some of our lazy people would get off their butts and do some honest work...but then, we would see our grocery prices skyrocket. It's a difficult situation, and our government seems unwilling, or unable to give these hard working "illegals" a decent option....while allowing the drug gangs and criminals to circulate quite freely through our society. 95 percent of the illegals are helping to support our economy, and our government should be concentrating its efforts on getting rid of the 5% which are causing problems.
 
ONCE AGAIN - - illegal immigrants get NO GOVERNMENT BENEFITS. They don't get housing, food stamps, disability, free medical care (except for true medical emergencies or public health risks), or anything else. The only thing they get is they can enroll their children in our schools, which does overload the schools. Unaccompanied children (like the hundreds or thousands that poured over our borders earlier this year) DO get fed and housed (which is a burden on our poor NM economy), but not adults. I don't know why some people don't get this. The idea of illegal immigrants getting all kinds of benefits is NOT TRUE.

Having said that, I live in a border state and illegal immigration IS a big problem here, especially for those living in southern NM down near the border. We don't hear nearly enough border patrol officers. We could go a very long way toward drying this up if we would enforce labor laws that are already on the books. We DO have laws making it illegal to hire illegal aliens, but they are seldom enforced because they provide cheap labor. If we'd enforce these laws, and actually ever DEPORT anybody, it would help a lot. The way it works here is that it takes forever to actually deport anyone -- they get a hearing, which can takes months or years, and are released pending those hearings, and they disappear in the interim. It's even incredibly difficult to deport convicted felons.
 
Wall not necessary due to improved patrolling and new visual technology according to a recent look at the problem...

Plans on sending most of wages home to wife and children. Money confiscated? U.S. citizen has college kids vacationing in Mexico for Spring Break. They call Mom and need a couple hundred dollars wired to them. Money confiscated?

This is nothing different than most of the Trump plan(s). They are pipe dreams, designed to incite the "cult" masses. None... NONE come with practical ideas of how these plans will be implemented.

Trump is playing to fearful White Men. THAT is his constituency. He is leading Clinton by 18 points in that Demographic. He is losing his butt in every other.. Trailing even with Republican women.. with nearly half of them saying they cannot imagine voting for Trump. He is in single digits with Hispanics... who will soon match his African American number of ZERO percent. No candidate has ever won the Presidency with less than 30% of the Hispanic vote. How does Trump believe he will win based only on the votes of White men? One has to wonder.

Heard an interesting point on Morning Joe this morning. The ONLY thing that drives Trump is the sound of a frenzied crowd.. That is why he came off so radical in Wednesday's speech. He cannot resist that sound. He is drunk with it. It's like an opiate to him.
