Have You Heard About the Creepy Clowns in the South Carolina Woods?

I heard on the news that these clowns were offering kids money to try and lure them into the woods. They're not sure if it's one person or a group of people working together. I'm not a big fan of clowns, and I couldn't relax if this was going on around where I live, especially if I had kids out playing.
 

That's really creepy. Glad they got the news out there.

It does. One night I was walking in my neighborhood which is bordered by dense forest, when I saw this weird looking figure wearing something like a white mask on their face. He was just standing by the end of the street where it leads to the woods as I was walking in that direction. As I drew closer the figure didn't do anything or move a muscle. Finally, I cautiously chickened out, turned around and walked back down the street in the direction I came from.

I hope the authorities will take this seriously. Very weird people can tend to hang out near forests and woodlands and little kids wouldn't stand a chance.
 
I have no problem with clowns per se, and I'm getting a sense of hysteria here. Somebody dresses up for a prank, they get seen, word gets around and exagerated. Suddenly theres whole gangs of clowns trying to lure little children into the woods. Everyone seen walking in the woods becomes one of these sinister creatures - there may even be a few 'copycat' clowns .....

Certainly all children should be wary of strangers, but I'll be more convinced when and if the police arrest someone wearing a clown costume in the woods.

I used to live in an apartment above this weird guy who was a "professional" clown. I'm pretty sure he was a devotee of Gacey. Really strange dude. Decorated his Christmas tree with Halloween decorations. Did his clown makeup "evil clown" style ala Gacey.

All around strange, pervy dude.

Even my friends who came over referred to him as "Gacey".
 
I'd forgotten all about the 'Killer Clown John Gacey' thing from back in the 70's till a month or so ago and I was watching a deal on tv about serial killers......I believe he raped and killed 30 or so teenage boys.

I remember the clowns Bozo and Clarabell back when I was growing up.

I have a professional ventriloquist's dummy from the 1940's that my mother gave me, for some unfathomable reason, for my birthday a few years ago. I plan to find out how much it is worth and hopefully sell it. It creeps me out big time and I keep it in the closet, wrapped in a shawl. I fully expect it to talk to me one day.....
 
I saw a photograph at Yahoo news the other day and it was truly creepy like something from a horror movie, but I can't imagine the real clown stood there posing? But it's hard to say. That's what happened to me with that weird masked figure standing at the edge of the woods. :mask:
