You Learn Something New Every Day

Actually it's quite nice to learn something new every day. But I was curious about some facial decorations I saw on one young man. This was in a tattoo parlor so you see some of the most interesting extremes of body modification...Sometimes the only thought bubble is " Ooooh that hadta hurt!". But this gentleman stood out.

Where his sideburns would be he had triangle studs. Not like bars or any looping. Just studs stuck in his face. I read a book yesterday that gave it a name "anchoring". A fairly new technique. Studs or beads are more or less hooked into the skin. If it heals right the studs or beads kind of float on the skin. Interesting...but nah I'm good.

To me it just hurts to look at...

Anchoring. Good name. Maybe they could modify this technique a little to keep your skin from sagging, you know, later in life. Little anchor pins tacked here and there, like clothespins.

wait till he tries and to get a job

Yes I am sorry, I am fifty something with a bunch of tattoos. If I am middle management hiring manager. On your hands, neck or face? Nope too alternative for my job description.

I never thought about MRI's and such. I mean eeeep if an MRI was absolutely required on that body part would they have to surgically remove the decoration first? Or say you're mad alternative at 26. Now you're 36 and those studs in your face are getting old, hard to shave around, maybe it's time to get rid of them...but you will have scars of the design for the rest of your life.
