So Where's My Xmas Movie??

I've realized what's missing this year. I can't find a channel running Christmas Vacation!! It's the only Christmas movie I ever watch, and it's not on! waaaaaghhhh.

We have threads about the Griswold inspired lighting spectaculars and not a word about the master of the art not being acknowledged this year. Shame on us.

There was a neighbour in Singleton who was called 'Clark' instead of Mark for a while because he went overboard with the lights one year.
I heard another neighbour driving past yell to him "They've had to roster an extra shift at Bayswater* because of you ya know!" It was only the one year though, he never summoned the energy to go to that much trouble again.

*Bayswater is the biggest power station in the Hunter Valley.

Not really Bonnie. They're running the Wally World Vacation one but haven't seen the Xmas lights gut buster this year. Never tire of that, still get a laugh every time.

Sorry, this is where we have to part company ...

I always thought Chevy Chase was a jerk, and not even in the Steve-Martin-Jerk sense - just your plain, ol'-fashioned garden-variety jerk. Never liked him even when he was doing SNL. Just couldn't get into him. Maybe it was the smug look he was always sporting ...

I love this movie, we have it and watch it every year, my favorite part, well one of them is when Clark is locked in the attic and starts watching home movies, he is wearing a ladies Turban, gloves and a fur stole, it is just priceless.

Oh when he goes down the hill on the round sled. :D

And I love Todd and Margo too!

And Aunt Bethany and Uncle Lewis

Play Ball!

They just showed that movie "its a wonderful life" on the NBC network for the 6,000th time.
DAMMIT!! and I wanted to watch

:p

I did catch Christmas Vacation, recently. But, what I'm worried about is not having seen It's A Wonderful Life, yet. It just ain't the season without it. Also, haven't seen Dickens' Christmas Carol, either. My favorites are the 1951 version with Alastair Sims as Scrooge and the 1984 version with the fantastic George C. Scott as Scrooge. But, of course, got to enjoy Scrooged with Bill Murray last weekend.

Only ever watched 'Wonderful Life' once. Thought it was abysmally corny and wrote it off, sorry. Warm and fuzzy doesn't do it for me I'm afraid. Gimme the funny side of the whole Christmas farce or I'll switch off.

I watch NLCV just to see the cat get zapped .....

Di.....just checked the TV guide for next week.....
Christmas night at 7.30 on channel 9 Melbourne "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation".....
Followed by "National Lampoon's European Vacation"......
Not sure if you get the same programs up there....
There's your fix of Chevy for a few hours.....:hair:

So it is, thanks Cas! I looked through the programs last week and didn't see it, maybe I visit the wrong site and they've just updated it or else I'm goin' blind!

All is okay now then.

But but but, that is the beauty of a dvd recorder, little gems accumulated over the year for the quiet times. Most xmas movies are just so lame, chevy chase? cannot stand the guy :lofl::lofl:

Is Xmas story the one about the homeless woman, if it is i have seen that and enjoy it.
A Christmas Story is about the kid who wants the BB gun and his mom keeps telling him he'll shoot his eye out.

My all time favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Carol with Alastair Sim, he was made to play Scrooge. He was brilliant.

The only Christmas movie I have watched this year is Bell, Book and Candle.
