Which food is your weakness?

Do you gentlemen put anything on your ham while it is cooking? Many Canadians add cloves or pineapple slices, various glazes.

Shali, my French Canadian relatives used cloves with a brown sugar sauce and their baked hams were heavenly. You just pierce the hams with the cloves, then make a brown sugar sauce with a little water and baste it with a spoon as the ham bakes and produces juices.

My weakness is chocolate brownies but I rarely give in to it. Still when I see a brownie in my travels, I salivate.

Rotissiere chicken! I love to rush home with it while it is still warm and pull it apart with my hands and eat it with my fingers...

Chocolate.....fried chicken with biscuits & gravy.....fried pork chops with biscuits & gravy.....chocolate.....pizza.....pot roast.....chocolate.....BBQ ribs & brisket.....all Mexican food.....chocolate.....double meat bacon cheeseburger.....T-bone steak.....chocolate.....sausage gravy & made from scratch biscuits.

Oops, I almost forgot CHOCOLATE !

My Callie drools to the ground when he smells yummy, I am so getting there! Great topic. First thing that comes to mind is Thai sticky rice. It comes out like a thick coconut rice pudding. When I make it between me and my daughter it's gone in one day. When our oven worked I used to make snickerdoodle cookies. The family didn't even wait for them to cool off.

Another thing I can't resist is the dessert menu at an Indian restaurant. I want one of each item, make that two so I can take some home:playful:

Hopefully not all at the same time!!!!

Yes but look where you are, you are bound to have a good one . I was born in Hull so am also very familiar what fish and chips should be like. I have often thought of opening a real chippie but never did, over here they are just not the same as the ones you will get over there. No haddock..no plaice... and most of the chips are frozen as is the fish,

Yep, I think I need another trip over just to pick up some stuff and eat some good chips. You are lucky.

Ok I will be the strange one. I love cottage cheese. I love cottage cheese so much that I eat a pound a day. I have gone out in blizzards to buy my Crowleys Large Curd Cottage Cheese. Have I mentioned that I like cottage cheese? Other than mozzarella, I cannot eat any other cheese,my throat closes up and I start gagging.

Another food is fried Haddock. I am lucky that upstate NY is a hotbed of Catholics and fish fry's abound every Friday. Today we will be traveling to Skaneateles, home of Dougs Fish Fry, the absolute uncontested home of the best freshest Haddock around.

Another vote for Doug's!

Notice that they don't have coffee on the menu. Many, many years ago Doug's had a much more limited menu and when asked to add coffee to the menu he dug in his heels and told people it was just too much bother to sell coffee because then you need sugar, gotta have cream, then they need a spoon, then they start to ask for decaf, etc...

Add to the above: Hot dogs & brats, lot's of mayo and chopped purple onions, jalapeno slices, a slice of Swiss cheese, plopped on a 100% whole wheat bun(to make it all seem healthy).
