Wrong Forum??

Guys, I must be on the wrong forum. This one is described as a "Friendly community", but I'm starting to wonder. It's remarkable how many people can lay claim to the moral high ground and preach that while they respect other's views, they are wrong. We'll I'm taking a break from all this hassle and I'm off for a holiday (or vacation if you prefer) to Germany . The OH and I will doubtless eat lots of festive food (they're very keen on pork) and drink lots of wine and beer. (see also post under 'Travel')

I'll be back in a couple of weeks and perhaps a bit of goodwill will have returned.

I'm glad you and your wife have the time and finances to go shopping in Germany and live there for a few weeks. Many of us do not have that choice. I assume you live in Europe already. Please come back and tell us what you purchased and bring me a present. :eek:nthego:

So what's wrong with that? It's a poor old world if we can't respect each other's views while disagreeing with them.

I have been in a very small minority (as small s one on occasion!) on many topics on this forum ranging from cluster bombs to Diana Spencer.

What a boring place it would be if we all sat back and agreed with each other.

Hear hear! I, for one, have enjoyed sparring with you! My dad was Welsh, learned to debate at his knee. Lol.
 
Enjoy your trip, Captain. And when you return, it is best to simply try to avoid those who cannot resist flaming others. I can understand what you mean. There are ways to diasagree, debate and challenge without appearing arrogant.

Not so much that Shali. Between the plan and its execution my wife's second stroke (as I said elsewhere, we ignored the first!) and my heart attack would have made medical costs prohibitive and insurance impossible to find.

You never know what's round the corner!

Again, Laurie, I am sorry. Yes, life does surprise us!
 
We're all anonymous. See, nobody knows I'm B. Obama. We can all hide behind a something@somewhere. So, you have to down play the stuff that's written here. While you may be hunting for bear, when you wrote something. 20 minutes later, when the what-the-hell-did-I-do part of your brain kicks in, you can unsend. Bad or good, you own it.
