Why are these people yelling and screaming....

at people doing their best to accommadate them?
Today they are screaming bloody murder at UPS and Fedx for not delivering their packages on time. Never mind that their system was overloaded unexpectly with packages to deliver and planes that couldnt fly because of severe weather across the country.

Now they are screaming at those guys up on the electric poles trying to restore power to these folks in blinding snow storms with power lines that have frozen rain on it.

Move someplace else or shut up and wait.

I don't know all the details, but I just assumed that the people who didn't get their packages delivered on time, likely were late and untimely in making their orders. If I order something last minute, I take full blame if it doesn't arrive on time. Also, you can't fault anyone for unexpected delays like weather conditions.

As far as the power line, people nowadays are just spoiled...I say wait calmly if they appear to be trying to resolve the power problem and get the situation under control. Get a portable generator, some candles and batteries, and make the best of it during an outage. Expect more and longer ones in the future, and use the small ones as a learning opportunity. :p

Our equiv of Fed-ex stuffed up a delivery of mine. It 'arrived at destination' twice, in two different places, not a bad trick. Unfortunately the wrong one was where it really was and I missed having it in time to give it to someone for Christmas before they went on hols. aaaagh. But I didn't even mention it to the local courier who finally delivered it 4 days too late. It wasn't his fault and he didn't need to hear about it.

Those guys fixing those power lines with freezing fingers should be showered with gratitude not abuse, I don't know what made people think that way.
We have ambulance drivers needing police escort to protect them from their patients and their families these days, wtf!?

On BBC news this morning.
A family are flooded out for Christmas. On Christmas day there home was with no power and flooded.
What did they do?
They had a BBQ in the pouring rain in the garden. then found a Hotel to put hem up.
Then I read of Americans being angry because they had no power.

Little owl thats seems to be the way of the world these days.. or most of them.. no patience, no considerations for the
couriers who battle all extremes to get them to destinations on time.. weather , all different reasons , people just should
act like a grown up with patience and thoughts to the others who do the jobs and deliver... I have relatives in Cornwall
who were with out power.. also some up country who battled the same problems and they too went to wherever they could when
they were forced to leave their homes.. no power well they should use candles lol or lanterns like our ancestors did..! if icy out side
there is enough to fill an esky to keep milk cold .. but I guess unless we have all experienced all these things we wouldn`t know what it
was like ..

No kiddin!!

First off, plan ahead people! don't wait until the last minute to order something, maybe it was not the case in some instances...but sh$t happens and it's also Winter time and there's been lots of snow.

But wowzer, if that's what "ruins" Christmas for you, because some gifts are late..WAH! what cry baby whiners.

Man I wish we would get interviewed!

" You bunch of cry-baby, namby-pamby whiners and complainers, why when I was a kid we had to walk, yes walk to Grandma's house in 5 feet of snow, up hill, both ways! and if we had been good we got an orange for Christmas!"

I feel bad for all the UPS drivers and Fed-ex people, working their asses off for the ungrateful masses! Hrummph!!!

The whole "online ordering experience" has been hyped to the point where most people believe they can sit in front of their computers in their jammies sipping hot cocoa at 11PM on Christmas Eve, click on the 407-piece Build Your Own Skyscraper Kit (only $735,000,002!) and have it delivered, completely gift-wrapped and still at room temperature, under the tree in time for little Johnny to come down the stairs and see it on Christmas morning.

Get a grip, idiots!

Online ordering is still in its infancy and the infrastructure isn't in place yet to make it the seamless, happy experience you're expecting.

I do agree with everyone's posts here.... so many people out there seem to have lost minds! and common sense.
But to Old Hipster's comment, double that! ... it's a shame what those drivers have to go through for the "ungrates".

Whenever the subject of complainers comes up anywhere I always think of the movie Blood Simple and the character of Private Eye Loren Visser, played so perfectly by M. Emment Walsh..his take on complainers.

The world is full o' complainers. An' the fact is, nothin' comes with a guarantee. Now I don't care if you're the pope of Rome, President of the United States or Man of the Year; somethin' can all go wrong. Now go on ahead, y'know, complain, tell your problems to your neighbor, ask for help, 'n watch him fly. Now, in Russia, they got it mapped out so that everyone pulls for everyone else... that's the theory, anyway. But what I know about is Texas, an' down here... you're on your own.

Oh now Senator Richard Bleumenthal is calling for UPS to refund customers for the shipping. I have an idea! Why don't these nut job politicians stay out of the way of businesses and let them sort it out to the satisfaction of their customers. Most of them have no business experience other than being land shark lawyers or professional politicians.

Dont forget this biggie.....we all had to walk to school every damn day no matter what the weather was like.

I thought that a couple of the gifts I got for the kiddos might be late; but I would have told them, "it didn't make it, so there'll be another surprise after Christmas." Doubt any of them would've had a problem with that - something to look forward to.

The whining is sickening. No wonder some can't stand Americans; spoiled, ungrateful, saps that we seem to be....of course, I've no doubt that's pretty much what their media portrays us to be. Just like ours plays up the baddies in other countries.

Anyway, we're damn lucky we have it as good as we do - so far, at least. :)

I can't even stand us and I live here.

But then I know so many good people, I wonder who all of these A-holes are, I don't know them ?!?

I know a couple women who whine about insignificant things...such as; the gov't doesn't do enough for us; we need help with the fuel bill, etc.,etc. Not surprisingly, they are on the roll. I asked one of them who pays for this, and she said, "The gov't". They have no clue.

Oh yeah there are always those types. Nobody is doing enough for them.
I'm tired of taking care of you!

It's gonna be ok now. On the noon news the politicians are going to get to the bottom of this. Geez, it's a darn shame they don't have anything better to do.
E-Gads!

Watch the news - who is really good at ferreting them out of their rat holes. We can only hope "they" are in the minority but the kind of noise making they do sells the news faster than how we think:frown-new:
No don't make me..not the news...AHHHHHHHHH
