What do you do with the heels of a loaf of bread? Do you eat them, toss them, feed them to the birds?

I toss them. Don't know why. I just have always done that. How about you:confused:.

I eat em!

Sometimes I toast them for breakfast, other times they end up as bread crumbs or get tossed into a meatloaf.

When we were kids we used to fight over who would get the heels on a nice fresh loaf of crusty Italian bread!

I toss them. I used to break them up and toss them over the back fence into the open field for the birds until I realized that the bread was just attracting more mice to our yard/house. I was a picky eater as a kid and my mother actually had to cut the crusts off of my sandwiches before I would eat them. She was very frustrated with me when it came to eating, luckily I grew out of it.

Either toss them or put them out for the birds. Its not like they're made of platinum or gold.

(I know, I know; 1,000s of people in the world would fight over them.)

I cube them, put them in a baggie and freeze them. When I have enough I add seasonings and make stuffing for chicken. The hubby likes it better than potatoes or other starch with his chicken. Better than Stove Top any day, and costs next to nothing.

I toss them now. When I was working I would crumble them up and throw them to the birds at work. We have too many squirrels around here(I can hardly keep them out of the bird feeders)!

My wife feeds them to 3 rabbits and birds..The rabbits come up to the patio every morning and wait..The birds chirp until she feeds them..They also like pizza crusts!!!!
