What is your favorite TV show?

I have several favorites......too long to list here. But I prefer NON stupid series with canned laughter.

I like the Animal Planet, and anything scientific. A lot on PBS. If Huel Howser is on, I skip right past it.

Two Programs:

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) and American Movie Classics (AMC)

They present movies from the era when there was Real Acting from Great Actors & Actresses in Mature Plots!

I prefer not to vomit through Gilligan's Island, Mama's Family, and all those other inane 30-minute sitcoms with that sickening canned laughter.

Oh yeah...also History, Animal Planet and NatGeoWild!

Honestly I don't care to watch any of the stuff on tv now. I think the last show I enjoyed watching was Dexter. I hated when it ended. Now my husband can have full control of the tv. I go on the computer to occupy my time.

Like several have said, there's too many to list. But, it would be the old sitcoms for example, Mash, Cheers, etc. I love the old comedies. I just don't enjoy today's TV shows at all except the court shows. Some of them are so ridiculous, they are funny.

I enjoy Call the Midwife on PBS. Even though it is based in The UK it reminds me of the camaraderie between the girls that I had when I was in nursing school. This is not a hubby show. When I watch with him we enjoy The Blue bloods, Black List, Shades of Blue. Night Shift,Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago PD. That just about rounds out the week. All of these are recorded so we don't have to deal with the commercials.

About the Only TV show I try to tune into regularly is Wheel of Fortune. I watch some shows on the Discovery, History and Smithsonian Channels...I prefer documentaries and "real world" to Hollywood fantasies. Every couple of days I check the MTV Live schedule on my computer, and make it a point to watch some of the great rock concerts that are broadcast on that channel....Adele, Imagine Dragons, Muse, Coldplay, etc., etc.

We've been watching re-runs of "M.A.S.H." too. It just seems timeless. They really made an effort to be true to the time period so it isn't set in the 1950s with 1970's hairdos and costumes.

Currently we love "Longmire" and are anxiously waiting for the last season to be released on Netflix.
We are watching "Dark Matter" on Syfy but I really miss USA channel's summer line up of "Burn Notice", "White Collar" and "Necessary Roughness"
Husband likes "Walking Dead"

Have accessed some older series on Netflix & Hulu:
"Republic of Doyle" - Newfoundland - awesome scenery and great fun!
"The Dr. Blake Mysteries" - Australian - still waiting for season 4 & 5 to release in the US
"The Miss Fisher Mysteries" - Australian - Essie Davis was perfect at Phryne Fisher!
"Rubicon" - US
"The Almighty Johnsons" - New Zealand (very rude but hilarious)
"Wallander" - Swedish (The British one is just depressing)
"Rosemary and Thyme" - UK
"Brother Cadfael" - UK

Always looking for more inspiration to knit by! (I generally don't just sit and watch TV - have to be doing something productive as well...)

I've watched all the reruns of all the old TV shows enough times. Except for a few HGTV episodes, I haven't watched a new show since Breaking Bad. I mostly just leave one of the news channels on all day and stop by whenever something sounds interesting. I like the Brian Williams 11:00 pm show on MSNBC.

Mostly PBS shows: Grantchester, My Mother and Other Strangers, Call the Midwife, Poldark, etc. The only American shows I really like are Blue Bloods, Grey's Anatomy. I love Coronation Street on CBC. I used to like the old sit coms but can't stand the laugh tracks and don't find the new ones funny.

I just love Jeopardy. I cancelled my cable for a month and really miss it.

Reruns I love are M.A.S.H. Lots of good comedy there and serious thinking as well.

I like M*A*S*H too, except Hawkeye tends to overdo the constant puns, and that idiotic Klinger with his cross-dressing belongs somewhere else too.

Radar should be promoted to E-5 Buck Sergeant.

That's all...smoke if you got 'em...

I usually watch Rachel Maddow unless she is in the 'gotta stretch 30 min. of news to make it 60 mode' in which case I move on early. I also catch 30 minutes each of local and national news, switching daily between networks. 30 minutes will catch the big stuff. If anything unusual is going on, I watch BBC as they usually have a more balanced viewpoint.

Don't care for the modern sit-coms but enjoy some of the series and documentaries on PBS. Favorites are Grantchester and Miss Fisher Mysteries. Also like some of the 50s & 60s movies. If nothing watchable on, I'm happy listening to music as I stitch.

America's Got Talent.. American Ninja Warriors.. Spartans...

Do watch Roku when nothing else on regular TV..HGTV.. Flipping..Property Brothers..

I like to watch shows on "Animal PLanet", History channel, esp."American Pickers" HGTV" a favorite is 'Fixer/Upper",don't watch any shows on the regular networks.
A couple all time favorite shows are "Alias',Hill St. Blues,St. Elsewhere, favorite detective show was'Remington Steele' 82-'87 starring Stephanie Zimbalist and Pierce Brosnan. This show is over 30yrs old, still holds up today Sue

Like I said before there are so many it's hard to pick. But if I have to I think I would go with "The Sopranos".

Edit: Now I'm already regretting that I didn't pick one of the many others that I like.

Breaking Bad, Friday Night Lights, Dexter, Miami Vice, Bloodline, The Americans, Orphan Black, House of Cards, The Walking Dead, Parks and Recreation, The Office, Person of Interest, Lost, oh forget it! This is a losing proposition!
