Advice, what's the best anyone ever gave you?

I remember being advised at a young age, 'Keep your eyes and ears open and your mouth shut' ...

My parents taught me self-responsibility and that there was "no free lunch". That advice taught me that if I wanted something, I would have to work and save for it, hence my early retirement.

Same for me SeaBreeze. I worked all my life and at times had more than just one job in order to take care of my kids. My daughter when asked about her work ethic tells folks that her mama taught her how to work.

Every single night at bedtime, after I kissed my Dad goodnight he would say,"Don't take any wooden nickles". His way of saying be careful, don't get scammed or cheated. I'm very wary and don't make quick decisions. I think it was good advice.

"You can love someone enough to marry them, but you have to like them in order to be able to live with them."
- my mom, who married 5x.
