I don't/didn't care for all the acts on "America's Got Talent", but when I first saw Darci Lynne I predicted she would win - and last night she DID! :applause:

And she taught herself. I am glad she won too. I think it is cool that she shared she has heard from other kids who want to try doing it too.

I didn't catch too many of the performances, didn't watch one show completely, but I did see Darci and was amazed at how well she performed and sang. I don't like ventriloquist acts at all, never did....but she was special and fun to watch. I'm very happy she won, I had no idea who the winner was, thanks for posting that Applecruncher.

This made me think about Shari Lewis and her puppet Lambchop........remember her ?

I think a lot of us seniors remember Shari Lewis, when I was a kid I watched her on TV and thought little Lambchop was cute, not creepy like some other dummies.

She was our pick from day 1...

I believe this was the 12th season, I always wondered what happened to all the great acts that they have had?? Do you think that they have to sign something that does not allow them to preform elsewhere??

Ken, I heard somewhere that when you sign up for an audition, you are also signing an exclusive contract with Simon Cowell's production company. That's one of the advantages he gets from his shows......the right to sign talent to his company. I suppose if he doesn't want you, he'll release you. Now, mind you, I don't know this to be fact.....just what I've heard.

Several have done well as Vegas acts.

I also read that the $1,000,000 is paid out in annuities over the course of many years. Still a nice chunk of change. In the case of Darci & other young winners, I assume the $$ is held until they are older. Not sure how that works.
