Small tasks becoming more difficult for me.

I just got back from Walgreen's to pick up a RX, I used my WALKER for the one block round trip.Seemed at the time that it would be good exercise. I felt like I had run the Boston Marathon. I didn't shower or make my bed until noon today and was exhausted from the effort. I plan on making a Tuna Salad for my dinner tonight but am not looking forward to the effort that I know will be required. I know the importance of proper exercise as we age despite knowing ahead of time that it may be uncomforting or even painful to do so.Rheumatoid Arthritis is one of my medical conditions and is a contributing factor to my daily physical expectations.. It's days like today when I think to my self that OH Yes---Assisted Living is the right choice for me.

Lon, It sounds like the perfect day to pour yourself a big glass of wine and have the local Chinese restaurant bring a meal to your door!!!

That's a great idea Auntie, but I will make it Thai instead of Chinese.

You are not alone Lon. I have had heart surgery, Spinal surgery, Arterial surgery, three TIAs (mini strokes), a heart attack and numerous lesser problems. I cannot stand for more than 5 minutes once alone walk very far without at least my cane or walker. My mind is still good but everything else has gone to hell. Still, like you I want to live and enjoy what's left.

At least the weather is nice in Fresno now, 80's. I went out earlier, around 8:00 am and I was actually chilled...I drove and saw that the temp was only 60...brrrrr

Then I went into Vons (Safeway) and froze to death...almost.

Not too much longer now until you're in your new home!

Lon, I give you credit for getting out and doing the walk after all you've been through recently, good for you! I agree with Aunt Bea, delivery is the easier option and can be as healthy without all the hassle.

AZ Jim, sorry to hear you've been through so much too! But, you're lucky to have a sharp mind, that would be my preference, a healthy body doesn't mean much if you're afflicted with Alzheimer's Disease and don't even remember who you are, etc.
