My Faults That Irritate Me. What Are Yours?

What irritates me the most are ridiculous habits I have had forever. Checking the lights, door, stove, locks etc. before going to bed. I can live with those things but I can't stand my newest habit. I look at the clock before laying down in bed. If the numbers in any way relate to the family I can't lay down. For example if it is 3:07 (my husbands birthday) I can't lay down. It started with Birthdays and now it has even started with special numbers (like Anniversary's ) etc. It's official now I am really crazy !

Thanks, it never crossed my mind before but now I'll probably do that tonight. Just checked the time I'm posting this. 8:00 am

so far it means nothing to me. :)

You
If I had my way all the lights in my apartment would be motion controlled and would shut off when you left the room.

In my bedroom I installed a timer switch. Now I can go to bed in the light and get into bed and the light will shut off by itself. No more fumbling in the dark.
Getting up in the dark is the night light on.

We have remote control lights in every room... you can programme up to 8 lamps in one room on just one remote control, which is no bigger than the palm of your hand... It's especially useful at bedtime, just have the remote in your pocket when you go to bed, or even the AC or ceiling fans on... and leave it on the bedside cabinet while you're asleep.. and you can turn the lights on at the press of a switch any time of night without leaving your bed..or fumbling for the lamp switch.. I know it's not quite motion control, but it's pretty darn close..

What drives me up the wall is doing things automatically but not remembering later if I did it. For example, I will come into my basement from walking and then I will lock my door but I will have my mind on something else and won't remember later if I locked it. It will bug me until I go back downstairs to check the door and yes, it will be locked every time but I can't remember doing it each time.

i know what you mean,..like you say we do it automatically, without even thinking about it,..i can't remember doing it either,....i thought it was just me,so nice to know I'm not alone,...LOL.

LOL!!! I'm so glad to know that I'm not alone too!!!!

Oh my, I am in good company. Procrastination is one of my biggest faults too, especially if the thing to be done involves anything unpleasant or remotely stressful.

Working on something. I have the part in my hand. Suddenly it disappears and I can't find it. No amount of searching does the trick. Magicians have an easy job as far as I'm concerned.

The part might show up later. I said might.

Today I lost a small spring working on my bike. I had it in my hand.

I had to make one to finish the job.

I want to set up a video camera to tape myself so I can see what I do with stuff.

Please don't get my annoying habit. If I was going to go to bed and it was 8:00 am I would have to hurry before it turned 8:01,because that is my niece's Birthday. January 8th.:confusion:[SUB][SUP]

I am a nice person. Everybody likes me. I've always been friendly. But I have a spinal problem, which causes lots of pain. When I'm in pain, I'm a vicious, yelling, miserable S.O.B. I have no problem calling a clerk, "a fat bitch". And I'm just getting started. Later, when the pain level is down, I go back and apologize, but the damage to the relationship has been done.
( BTW, I say that I have a spinal problem. Because if I say I have a back problem, I'll hear about the time somebody moved a stove and their back hurt like hell. I want to strangle them. What they call a day of pain is one of my good days.)

I had back pain for years and I know what you are talking about when you say it changes your personality drastically. (It was a degenerating disc. pressing on the spinal cord).

I don't know why but it got better on its own. They told me at the Mayo Clinic not to lift anything or push cars and it will get better. They said if I had a job like a bricklayer, I would need an operation. I worked in an office.
