I know this may sound weird, but how do I make friends here?
I'm not sure, Jane. Comment on others posts if you feel like it. Keep posting yourself. I heard a saying back down the road of life somewhere, 'to have friends, be friendly,' whatever that means. Hang around, things will happen naturally. This is a good forum. Lots of good people talking about whatever comes up, and a few old soreheads like myself. Read some of the posts, get a feel for the forum. Lots going on here. Hang around, see what happens.
Have you always lived in Olympia? When I was younger I hung out in Tacoma a couple of years. Made several trips up Mt. Rainer. Learned to ski there. Tore up a couple of good sweaters in the learning. Welcome to the forum. You might also introduce yourself under the Introductions, down toward the bottom of the page. Cheers.
Comment on this site, be a regular, relationships will form.
No, Jane, been a long time since I was in your state. I'm in Oklahoma. Hope you enjoy the forum. No chat room I know of.
Hi Jane, there's no chat room here, but there are folks here day and night to talk to if you just want to have a discussion about anything at all. Jump right in on any threads also that are already in progress or start some of your own. Hope your daughter is doing okay, been thinking about your two. :sentimental:
Jane: I knew a jane years ago when I was in the navy. she had a son and daughter. it would be one heck of a coincidence if this were you? tom
I will try harder, thank you. My daughter and son are getting into the candle making and selling business, they are working on it now. So I hope that makes my daughter feel better.
That's nice that they're working together like that, good for them! Wishing the best for your daughter.
Dallas is pretty far from you. Do your daughter and son live near you? I lived in Hayama and Yokohama Japan for 3 years from 1960-63. I love the Japanese people. I respect their commitment to family and traditions. They're also kind and polite.
Jane, I lived in your neck of the woods (Bainbridge Island) for many years. You are lucky to live in that wonderful state. Thinking of it still gives me a warm, happy feeling.
