We had a cold front roll in last night and the temp now is 23º with a wind chill of -13º.....not figuring in the wind chill our high today is only supposed to reach 35º.

Us Okies ain't used to this !

It's so cold.........

That picture is hilarious !!!! I need a tee shirt like that ! The weather is the same here in Wisconsin ..... cold enough to freeze Frosty's snowballs !!
 
Same here....a couple hundred miles NE of OK. The cold front came through yesterday and the long range forecasts say this pattern should persist at least until Mid December. We went from light jacket weather to bundle up in just 24 hours. We've had fairly mild Winters for the past 3 or 4 years....but most of the weather services are predicting that this Winter might be a real bummer.

Same here- a ways north of you.
Currently 21 degrees, but at least the wind has stopped.

50 degrees and only going to 62 today. Guess I'll have to break out one of my hoodies if I plan on going out & braving those temps.

I remember now why I moved from the really cold No. East. Clearing my 900 foot long driveway from the kind of snow in post #1 was not fun. Winter where ice & snow trap you indoors was motivation enough to move to the sunny south west.

If that was for me we usually get temps as low as 30 degrees a couple of times during mid Dec. to late Jan. I don't know or can't count the times I've BBQ'ed outside for our Christmas meal. What I think I enjoy most is the greenry year round

We moved from Pa. Allentown area so I'm familiar with weather in Pa. from Honesdale to Williamsport to below Harrisburg & east to Buxmont. When traveling in the Poconos in the summer the beauty is awesome. Used to stop and eat at a quaint roadside restaurant in Tannersville. Winter was a nightmare for black ice and snow. and the stark bleakness of no foilage.
 
I remember flying non stop from San Diego to New York in the winter. I would leave San Diego with a temp of 71° and when we would land in New York in January or February, the temp would sometimes be in the teens and snowing. I would have passengers onboard wearing shorts and flip flops. As they exited the plane, I would ask them if New York was their final destination. If they told me that it was, I would smile at them and say, "Glad you came prepared."

BTW, I, too, thought a long 600 foot drive way was cool. There's a nice big snow bank that forms on my driveway.

today however my daughter who still lives there said they had a heat wave and it hit 29^

I lived up in your area for four years. It wasn't nearly as bad (weather) as the Erie and Pittsburgh areas. I remember being called out on a lot of domestic issues back then on weekends. Alcohol and girlfriends sometimes don't mix, especially if the boyfriend decides to drink the rent money. Also investigated several accidents on I-80. Race weekends also kept us busy. This is going back a lot of years, but we were called out to Stricklands Lodge on one Sunday night. A couple had just got married on he Saturday before and the "happy" couple got into a heck of an argument that turned physical. The next thing that happened was that the Groom decided he needed an edge, so he went out to his car and retrieved his .357 magnum pistol.

When we arrived, we walked up to the lodge they were staying in and it was very quiet. Suddenly, he started yelling again and talking about killing her and then himself, so we were sure that he had a pistol in his possession. We decided to pound on the door and announce ourselves. When we got inside, both of them denied that "nothings going on." And, we don't have a pistol. So, we looked around and found it. We decided that it was best if the "happy" couple slept apart for that night. I seriously doubt if that marriage lasted very long.
 
You guys see it all, 911. I dated a CT State trooper (old friend) for awhile and the stories he told curled my hair, but a lot of them were funny, too.

35 degrees here in CT, low to be 26.
 
I don't know why anybody lives in Erie, PA. During winter, they turn in the mole people, buried under tons of snow. Crime in the Poconos is the 'sick' kind. I guess like all over. Not like the day when I first moved here. They found a guy handcuffed to a tree with a bullet hole in his forehead. I was told that back in the old days, guys from Philly and NYC used to have hunting accidents like that.
I just paid a $997.70 heating bill, so 66 degrees, the current Arizona temp, doesn't sound so bad.
