Care to guess which city will win ?

I live in the Dallas area which is business-friendly with a huge labor pool and offers employees a great lifestyle at less cost than other major large cities.


Also, Amazon plans a major expansion into Mexico.

Rochester, NY, MY home town was on the list until the first cut, earlier this month. Rochester and Buffalo put resources together to combine a proposal. Did not work. I am going to say Atlanta, with it being a major airline hub.

I hope DFW gets the nod, but I do not cherish 50,000 more people in the Metro mess!! We already have 2 fullfillment centers out here..
I have heard that since 2010, 76 companies have moved here!!
Everywhere you drive you see out of state plates!!

I retired early [age 55] in a quiet suburban neighborhood and haven't driven in rush hour traffic for years [I try to do all my errands before 4pm.]

Yesterday around 6pm I heard a strange noise in the distance then realized it's traffic noise !

Atlanta is my guess also for the same reason.

That's why they should choose Dallas... great infrastructure... lots of shopping and restaurants... family-oriented... a climate that offers a great year around lifestyle, reasonable home prices and no state income tax. Dallas [DFW] has a huge international airport, home to American Airlines. There is also another major airport in the city of Dallas, Love Field, home to Southwest Airlines.

Ironic you would say that...

My dad was a carpenter. Many times during my early childhood we had to move to where he could get work.
My parents had a small farm in the Ozarks, but spent most of their time in Texas where I was born [Odessa.]
When I was nine, my parents moved to this Dallas suburb. Dallas was booming back then too. There was
so much work available, my dad never had to move for work again [my dad helped build schools, hospitals,
office buildings, etc..] So this is the only real hometown I have ever known... over 50 years later, I'm still here.
 
The question isn't who but how much kow-towing and/or tax breaks will the 'winning' city offer. I saw a major corporation fund a high rise in 2006 that won't be taxed until 2020. Tax breaks 10 years after completion. In the meantime other taxes have been increased or created. Just like these sports stadium/millionaire playgrounds the local tax payers could wind up paying through the nose just to attract them there with neither a friend or family member benefiting with a job or support business.
