A new one [Chick-fill-a] just opened near me.

Has anyone tried it ? Is the food any good ?

I get tired of cooking / sometimes do not feel like cooking so,....a decent carry out is good to know about.......TIA !

I forgot to add that my oldest son worked at a Chick-fil-a for a while when he was in college. They got in shipments of fresh chicken several times a week... no frozen or pre-formed "mystery patties." They use fresh chicken breast that is cut, breaded and cooked at each location.

I LOVE chic-fil-a!!!! Now you have made me hungry for a Chic-fil-a Deluxe sandwich with nugget fries!!!!!

Well, the food is really good ! I got a chicken-noodle soup, nuggets and a potato waffle..All very good , but I should have gotten the strips, as the nuggets were pretty small.

Oh well..next time.

Oooh, yeah... their soup is great! Their salads are excellent, too.

Didn’t have one by us for a long time, but one of the kids have one by her place. Ate there almost every other day when visiting her. Finally have them around us and don’t go there as much as when we didn’t have them near us. Food is great, staff couldn’t be nicer. Hubby would get the #1 and I’d just get the sandwich and we’d share the waffle fries, plenty for us. Be sure and ask about Sr. Discounts, by us, none, in Az., free drink.

I've read their secret ingedient is that they add dill pickle juice to their breading.

I guess there is one coming here later this year. Not sure if I would try it. We love our Popeye's and KFC

Used to get Popeye's at work, for lunch. That was 18 years ago. Haven't had it in all the years since. Wish there was one near by, as I recall it being good as well.

I noticed that on the sign...seems odd,..wonder why?

Google says: "Morgan spoke to Thrillist about why the company takes the day off, despite the fact that it costs them $47.5 million in revenue each year, and as it turns out, it's all about employee satisfaction.

When Chick-fil-A founder Truett Cathy opened his first restaurant, The Dwarf Grill, in 1946, he was working 24/7, Morgan says. "He would sleep next to the grill and jump up when he heard cars pulling up – the gravel driveway was his alarm clock."

It was during an all-nighter at the restaurant that he realized in order to maintain some semblance of work-life balance, the restaurant ought to be closed one day a weekend. This would give him and his employees a chance to rest and spend time with family and friends. When he opened his first Chick-fil-A in Atlanta, Georgia two decades later, Cathy stuck to that rule, and it's remained a company-wide policy ever since.

Many years ago they were giving samples of the nuggets outside of a store in the mall and I remember it being really good. But, I can't say I ever went back and actually ate there, if I did I don't remember.

They are owned by southern Christians. A few years ago there was a rumor that they would not hire gay people.

Same with Hobby Lobby.

Well...I suppose a privately held business can do as they please.

I just hope I don't get a-hankerin' for their food on a Sunday....:)

Chick-fil-A opens on Sunday, provides food to stranded passengers at Atlanta airport

" The chicken chain, which is normally closed on Sundays, broke tradition following a power outage that crippled the world’s busiest airport on Dec. 17, and began providing food to stranded travelers both in and outside the airport.

“The mayor called about 10 p.m. and asked for assistance,” a spokesman for Chick-fil-A confirmed in a statement obtained by Fox News. “We immediately mobilized staff and team members who live and work near the airport, and they began making sandwiches and delivering them to the EOC (emergency operations center). City and airport officials then distributed more than 5,000 sandwiches to passengers who were stranded due to the power outage.”
