I'm Dolly, I shall be 64 on the last day of May. I always 'move in' to my next birthday on Jan. 1st... Much less of a shock if you approach it a bit at a time. I live on the Welsh borders. Been married since 1975 and after over 35 years in the same house we moved a year ago today. We have a geriatric and, a bit senile, labrador
we love to pieces.
Not had much time for hobbies over the last 12 months, unless you count looking for things you are sure you packed in the move but can't find. I like to knit, crochet and design my own tapestries. But an really cack-handed with a sewing machine.
I look forward to getting to know you all

Hi Dolly, welcome to the forum! We have a Standard Schnauzer who's getting up in years, and slowing down with arthritis and senility...just a little bit like us, but he's loved and part of the family. Glad you're with us, please get comfy and make yourself at home! :welcome:

Gosh, what a friendly bunch you are. I'll certainly be contributing. At the moment, we have just had our garden fences replaced today after the gales. Our neighbours have been away for 2 months and we greeted them back home with the words.. 'You may notice that your shed has gone. We don't know where but we've recovered most of the contents'

Hi Dolly. I'm glad you have joined us.
I'm not like you where Birthdays are concerned.
When my birthday rolls around... my clothes move in, my furniture, all my personal possessions - even my hair for goodness sake.
But I personally always manage to dilly-dally and hang around in the previous year.
I don't do it intentionally. But when asked my age, I often respond by giving a number a year younger than I really am. :wiggle:

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is a disorganized house mover.
Casper We used to have a little miniature Yorkie just like your picture She was called Pip and lived until she was 15

Hi Dolly.. That was my mothers name ... they called her Doll or Dolly and her name was
Doris.. welcome to the forum from Australia.. a few of us from Oz are here and many more from nearly all corners of the earth .
but its round ? its a lovely area in Wales you have moved to , where did you move from? enjoy the forum and looking forward to getting to know you..

Hi Dolly! I like your name because I like Dolly Parton.

And I like Wales very much and the accent especially. I have some Welsh ancestry waaaay back.

Your doggie sounds lovely. That's a wonderful breed. Well, nice to meet you and you'll like it here I'd venture to say.

I support the All Blacks when Wales isn't playing us Fern. There have been some memorable matches at the old Arms Park. Once upon a time, it was such a memorable game that the pubs ran dry. I now live over the border in England
Dolly is my dogs name.

Hi Dolly, do you know of or have you visited Conwy Castle on the northern coast of Wales? Supposedly an early relative of mine was involved in building the chapel.

I certainly have Tex. It is beautiful, as is Conway. My mum did her Midwifery training during WW2 on Anglesy and had an old friend living in Conway. Both of them were Welsh speaking. I'm not I'm afraid. I did my nurse training in Cardiff and had a whale of a time and my midwifery in Coventry but didn't like the city so much. Next time I got to Conwy I can say that I know someone who has an ancestor who worked on the chapel
