In today's world, those subjects (politics) would be pretty brief. No need to waste time checking for any facts or offering a divergent opinion. Two words should suffice - -"Fake News". End of discussion!!!

OK, then what subject/topic?.......we discuss just about all others.....and often they are just boring. Politics not only touches us all...it is the basis of our mere existence. Or government.

Me too! One of the moderators should have received some kind of diplomacy award, but it was too "loud" and belligerent, so I closed that account.

I joined one of those too, and then went looking for something a little less, shall we say, divisive. I found this one (and one other), but the funny thing is I find myself floating back to that original one after all and spending less and less time on the 'friendly' ones. Not sure what that says about me. It's not like I actively seek conflict but have to admit unicorns and rainbows, while lovely, do get a little boring.

It is interesting, both of those other forums are happy to discuss politics. The friendly forum is mostly inhabited by people of the same mindset.

The original 'divisive' one has both sides pretty equally divided. I find that more interesting because you get both sides of an argument. Granted each side slants the facts to their own agenda, but at least getting both sides gives the observer a better overall picture of whatever is being discussed. The political leaning is rampant though, even subjects that aren't in the least political seem to attract some sort of criticism (or praise) of the Government. While to some that might be tiresome, I find it kind of funny. It's amazing to what lengths some people will go to push their own individual barrow.
