Too much Heat.......

This seems to be a wide-spread northern hemisphere heat wave. Here in the northeast U.S. we just got over a week of mid to upper 90's (Fahrenheit) temps. Spent the it sitting in front of the A/C and then I was BARELY comfortable. When I tell people I don't like warm weather, they look at me like I must be insane. BTW - I don't like REALLY COLD, either. I have a narrow comfort range which is about 65 to 70°F.

I've been out on the river all day here in the South...temps were around 32 degrees...anyone watching the Wimbledon Tennis Championships will be able to see that it's hot here, and has been for week, and forecast for a while to come yet.

I've been out today lunching with friends at a restaurant riverside...and despite slathering myself with high factor lotion..I managed to still go even darker tanned than I already am after my trip to Southern Spain where the temps there were 100 deg +

Wimbledon???

Crazy place, I had to pass it to go to a hospital
for an appointment last Thursday, it added half
an hour to my journey!

But this is about heat, Wimbledon give the female
players "Heat Breaks", but not the men and they
play longer matches, I wonder why?

Mike.

Why are you asking me..?...I don't live in Wimbledon.. nor do I work there, or make any rules about heat breaks...I have absolutely nothing to do with the traffic which held you up.. either!!

My point is that I live on the edge of London, and if anyone outside of the UK wants to see how hot it is here they only have to watch The Wimbledon Championships...

Here in NM the temp can easily get to over 100 in the summer and the surfaces of our roads become soft and squishy. People don't really sink into them, though. but if you try to cross asphalt streets in high heels, the heels will sink in. I broke a heel off a shoe this way once years ago.

Beastly hot here. 116 F (46.6 C) yesterday, 111 F (43.9 C) today. Going down to a chilly 98 F (36.6 C) tomorrow. Time to break out the down parkas and mittens.

I couldn't agree more. We live on the southcoast of Mass. and usually benefit from the ocean breeze. Sometimes it's 10 degrees or so cooler than 10 or 15 miles inland. Nevertheless, we've been cooking in temps in the high 80's - low 90's and it's not pleasant. Yesterday brought some brief relief as the temp stayed in the 70's but today it's back in the mid 80's.

My range is similar to yours although I might list 75 as liveable.. Anything over 90 usually creates a "near death experience". LOL
