50 pence a kiss

I was in Glasgow a few years ago and outside a big store was a young woman sitting on a stool with a sign saying '50p for a kiss'.....( I discovered the proceeds were for a charity).

I stood there for a moment and she beckoned me over, so I said to her, "Are there any special rates for pensioners", and because I have a bad back, "Could I sit on the stool and her on my knee for the kiss?" She stunned me when she stood up, sat me down on the stool, then, sitting on my knees, she gave me a big wet kiss. I nearly died of either fright or sheer pleasure, don't know which..... but when she stood up with her hand open for my fee, I put a £5 note in her hand and walked away with a big grin and a spring in my step.

A wonderful day

A big wet kiss sounds great until you realize HIV is contracted by transfer of body fluids

Of course you are right, but if we looked at all people in that manner, we would all be walking around with masks on to prevent breathing in other peoples germs........I'm a risk taker...:lofl:

Wait. To the "kissing" naysayers, I just have to ask...did you never kiss anyone on the mouth before? "Big wet one" or not, it's the same risk, no? Unless your lips are closed completely shut the whole time.

But I have to add. I wouldn't kiss a stranger but then I'm a female. Well, maybe for the sake of charity
.... (I'm joking)

I can understand when Ferocious said "at his age it was worth the risk". He might go a little sooner but what a way to go! Cute story.

Lara, thank you, spray the air with disinfectant, I'm about to blow you a kiss for standing in my corner.......:D

I forgot to mention in my opening post, that the lovely young girl was a super kisser, she'd also been sucking peppermints.......come to think of it, I think I had a cold sore a few days later.....:D

It's a shame HIV as a disease is not understood. It's not immediately viable and unless suspected and blood is tested symptoms. It usually takes around 13 weeks for HIV to show up as the virus,it may take some time to spread in the body. Until specific symptoms show up and a test is conducted for HIV, it is quite difficult to detect.

I'm sure passing along to unsuspecting friends & family members is the last thing that is thought about. In the 50's before HIV this would be a nice story about the thrill of a kiss by a stranger. But now it reminds me of how the Navy explained the spread of a STD.
