Living the Dream
Yesterday, about 1 o’clock, I was setting in the oral surgeons dental chair. Out comes the 12 inch numbing needle which hurt like hell both times. This tooth, they called it no. 14 upper left in front of departed wisdom tooth, had lost its filling and there was nothing left to fill it again.
Long story short, after I was assure it won’t hurt a bit, the pliers started breaking the tooth off in pieces. Now I’ve had enough teeth pulled to know what comes next. The dreaded crow bar thingy that he uses to go down deep and pry it out. This hurt like hell as I knew it would. The dentist stopped and asked if I need another shot. Hell yes, make it a double I told him. Anyway, it helped some and out popped the root. Then the fun started. I take a blood thinner, Pradaxa, and had skipped the last two doses at doctors request.
Home again finally. Bleeding was heavy and I was going through gauze pads like crazy. I knew there would be no sleep for me tonight until I got this stopped. Finally, at 1 am the bleeding slowed down and I was totally relieved. Gonna be sore for a few days and soft foods will be on the menu, but so darn happy that’s over with.
Oh, and when the dentist tells you, ‘this won’t hurt a bit,’ tell him to kiss my grits!!!!
