What jobs have you been employed at?

Worked on a tourist fishing boat. I baited the tourist's fishing hooks. I started out as a apprentice baiter I worked my way up to a............ah, you know where this is going. I didn't go through all twelve pages. How many beat me to the punch with ancient gag?

    Can't stop Dreaming at night

I'm a retired letter carrier. I still have bad dreams about being on a strange route for the first day. Sequencing the mail on a strange route could be a real hassle. I dream of working into the night. It gives me the utmost respect and sympathy for veterans with PTSD. I cannot imagine the...

I pine for the female singers of the past....

Take a look at this lovely young lady with a voice like and angel. Check out the varied ages of her fans. I have not seen anyone transcend generations like her since Dean Martin in the sixties.

    Anyone remember a military movie

After seeing "Platoon" I went to the men's room. I used the urinal beside the first stall. I could hear the poor guy in the stall crying like a baby. I didn't know if I should try to say something or help him. I did neither and felt so sorry for him. Still haunts me.

Proximity Fuses Won The Battle Of The Bulge

I've always thought it was Patton's armor coming to the rescue and the clearing of the skies which provided air cover that enabled the Army to win that battle. Yesterday, I came across this on YouTube. Never to old to learn something new, I found this to be fascinating. YouTube disallowed the...

How We Really Won The Battle Of The Bulge

Beginning with "The Twentieth Century With Walter Cronkite" I became quite a history buff of WWII. I've always thought it was Patton's armor and the skies clearing permitting air cover that won that battle. Never being too old to learn something new, I just learned what really happened: It...

What TV shows, old or new, have you particularly loved?

I read a neat article about him wanting to be cast in Peaky Blinders. He was told to forget it, he was too nice or a guy. "Am an Actor!" So, they gave in and let him audition and he nailed it. After all, he IS an actor.

    The Seinfeld tv series

The final show was a huge disappointment. Newhart set the bar for great finales. Seinfeld's was a total flop.

Number 1 Adult Contemporary song in the year of my birth

This was the number one song on the date of my birth! Being the horrible procrastinator I have always been, I doubt if anyone here has a more appropriate birth song!

Nothing funnier than nuclear holocaust is there?

I had never seen this before today. With nuclear holocaust being brought back into the realm of it being a possibility I thought I'd share it with you. I thought it to be a hoot: Iconic ‘60s Singer and Satirist Dies at 97 And here is another comedic view on the matter. WARNING!!! THE...

    The Seinfeld tv series

I loved it on Friday mornings. Someone would yell out one word or phrase. Everyone who had watched Seinfeld would bust out laughing. SPONGE WORTHY! SHRINKAGE! POOFY SHIRT! NO SOUP FOR YOU! the classic: MASTER OF YOUR DOMAIN! And my personal favorite: THEY'RE REAL AND THEY ARE SPECTACULAR!

    The Donut Dollies in VN.

The only American women who are ever mentioned in the Vietnam fiasco are the nurses and the "donut dollies". One of the best kept secrets of that shit show was the thousands of American women who worked there. My wife was one of them. She was an Admin assistant to the CG of the Engineers...

Seniors Living Alone Should Marry Each Other!

Whenever this is discussed I think about an old, very sweet little movie with Art Carney: "Harry and Tonto".
