Are you streaming ( or binge watching ) any series on Netflix, or any other service? Tell us about it.

Just finished the Austrian drama "Woman of the Dead" on Netflix. I watched it in the original German with English subtitles. It's really good. It's an set in a small resort town in the Alps. The acting is really good and the scenery is fantastic. And the protagonist rides a motorcycle. I do loves me some motorcycles so that had a special appeal to me. In almost every scene with the motorcycle she's riding it like a bat out of Hell along these twisty switchback mountain roads and there is snow on the ground. Obviously the riding is being done by a stunt person but it's still pretty cool to watch. :)

I just finished “Adolescence”, a limited series on Netflix
all I can say is… WOW
It’s really good! Acting is superb by everyone in it but it is heart wrenching.
It’s British
Okay...now you and @Medusa have me curious about the show! But I haven't resubscribed to Netflix yet and don't intend to until Stranger Things S5 airs. I'll have to make a note to myself to check out Adolescense.

I finally gave up on Severance tonight. Just turned it off when I realized I was lost, and bored....life's too short.
Heh, heh. I know what you mean. But really, the overall story is not all that complicated, it's just complex in its busyness. I enjoyed the 2nd season finale, which was a bit of a cliff hanger, but at least it gives a direction in which way it'll go in season 3-- whenever that'll be completed and aired. I'm sure they're feverishly working on it right now...;)

I've gone back for a re-watch of season 1, and it's much more digestible since we already have the general idea. I'd forgotten that they actually spent the better part of the first 2-3 episodes explaining exactly what "innie" and "outie" were and what that meant. That's a good foundation.

IMO the writers (Dan Erickson and likely Ben Stiller) had, and have, a general idea of where they want to go, but tend to fill up the journey with lots of dead ends and incongruous features. It's not like they're filming an established novel. When writing something a bit David Lynchian, that allows for wide latitude in implication and faux significance.

There's a boatload of discussion about the show in general and it's 2nd series finale on the web. I thought this article, which interviews Erickson and Stiller, was helpful: ‘Severance’ Creator and Ben Stiller Unpack the Finale: What’s Next for Mark and Helly? What’s Up With Reintegration? And How Long Until Season 3?

Anyway, I'll be looking forward to season 3, at which point we'll have to refresh the whole thing. Two of the non-story elements that I really liked were the extremely clever opening credits (season 2's even more than season 1's), and the haunting main theme piano score that comes in and out depending upon the scene.

Been watching 'David & Goliath' finally at the end we might see the conflict. David's singing is bad at best. The dialog keeps getting in the way of the drama.

The past week, I somewhat binged watched some episodes in the current season of The Rookie, so now I'm caught up. I have several shows and movies in my various watchlists and I need to catch up on many. But the ones I make sure to watch as soon as they are available to stream are:
~Will Trent (ABC/Hulu)
~The Equalizer (CBS/Paramount+)
~Found (Peacock)

I'll check out the link but I've already read and listened to a bunch of things about the show and I'm still lost.

Just started 'Bosch:Legacy' (2022-2025)

I've read every Harry Bosch book by Michael Connelly and have put off watching this series.
The motto of Bosch being 'Everybody Counts or Nobody Counts', pulled me into the books.

Thought Titus Welliver did a good job as Harry Bosch.
Lots of Episodes, so taking my time.

I too have read all the Bosch novels, and have watched the entire series so far. 'Preciate the reminder that "Legacy" season 3 premiered on 3/27/25. Will look for it.

Way back when the first series started (2014) I was shocked to see that the casting of Titus Welliver was almost exactly how I pictured Bosch from the novels. I enjoyed most all of the seasons, although I was disappointed that they had to "woke" it up with some of the casting and story lines. But I'm sure Connelly whistled all the way to the bank. And he deserves it, being one of the best ever detective/ police procedural writers of all time.

White Lotus Season 3 is so much worse than the first two. I think the second was my favorite. But it's feeling formulaic now with regard to both the characters and the plot.
I agree. I know the characters are deliberately supposed to be entitled and unsympathetic, but I felt more of a connection (of sorts) with the ones in Seasons 1 and 2. And I thought Murray Bartlett was positively brilliant in Season 1.

With Season 3 I'm having a hard time mustering any sort of sympathy for any of the characters: They all just seem obnoxious.

I just finished Apple Cider Vinegar, which I enjoyed a lot more than Prime's Scamanda, probably because the latter was a documentary and Apple Cider Vinegar was a semi-fictionalized reenactment.

I may try Adolescence next. I've heard so much about it.

I pay enough for Dish, I flat out refuse to pay for any other viewing services.

I don’t like dark or depressing. I would rather watch a 15 year old Family Feud on the Game Show Network and be stupidly entertained by stupid people with stupid answers trying to win 20K.

I do watch a few series on the History Channel and I am recording “The Americas” an all wild animal series narrated by Tom Hanks.

My public library offers (free) to Hoopla and Kanopy. Yours may, too. Lots of old and not so old movies available. Also plenty of DVDs. Your library may differ in its offerings, but might be worth investigating.

I gave up on watching Midsomer Murders. I preferred the first 13 seasons with the older cast and general mood.

I'm trying out Murdoch Mysteries on the Roku channel.
