How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

Was back at the rose garden again today so have visited 5 out of last 6 mornings. Weather was sunny with calmest day so far. One of my favorite situations is uncommon, orienting my lens at an angle below an isolated flower on a stem higher than others, putting such flowers up aginst blue sky.

Those are often flowers most like to wobble in even slightest breezes. I made the most of calm by working subjects sticking up high that are most likely to move in even slightest breezes. Was able to capture 4 strong images before calm ended. Completed all the post processing in 4 hours. Today was productive adding 8 strong images.

Then read a bunch of online information about inguinal hernia surgery and modern surgical blood management that had me uneasy afterwards. Made plans with a brother who will be driving/monitoring. I have a top very experienced KP surgeon and will pray to the Holy Spirit to help guide his team.

Tomorrow will go to hospital to get Pre-Admit out of the way. Will do some overall residence cleaning then set up so I can minimize movement afterwards. Since will be home-bound a few weeks, am thinking of re-reading some of my botany and cellular science books. Sitting at a computer is not advisable the first week post op so limited laptop Internet with just some minor smartphone posting.

Saw the Doc yesterday, mostly a medications review. Prescribing the next dose upward for Mounjaro for four weeks, with another jump up for the third 4 weeks. Cutting my blood pressure medication dose by half. I'll call for a Cardiologist appointment for a check, but there is no hurry. Back to the Doc in 8 weeks to go over the Mounjaro usage results.

Nurses and front-office staff were chatty today. Things must be going well there.

David777, if you're having simple inguinal hernia surgery, it's a piece of cake. Get it done with a local anaesthetic and it's only a 20 minute op start to finish. Back home in a couple of hours and then rest. You can't do any heavy lifting for about 4 weeks, but you can be 'up and about' quite soon. Well, that was my experience. I don't know about a holy spirit, but I chatted to one of the theatre technicians about our favourite whiskeys while the surgeon was doing his bit.

Your pictures always turn out beautifully. :)

Before every surgery I've had (13), I watch videos of it being done. My DH thinks I'm weird. lol Praying for peace inside you, no uneasiness or worries. Praying that the Lord guides the surgeons hands and is with the other medical assistants during your procedure.

Good Morning!! The Farmer's Market was fun yesterday. A tiny bit chilly at first but it warmed up nicely.
Raleigh is a nice city, not too big.
We ate breakfast at the Farmers Market Restaurant, a long time staple. Some of the same servers are still there since I've been going for many years.
I got one more red geranium to fill in the one red and two white already in the barrel. Couldn't find the right blue flowers to add but we won't worry with it. We add the flags on holidays which adds blue.
We got some pretty heirloom tomatoes, spring cabbage, a big beet for me, and strawberries.
I had the urge for a milkshake on the way home so we stopped for a burger and shake. I haven't had a milkshake in a very long time. I see why......weird dreams and tossing and turning! 😒
DH likes to stop at Cabelas/ Bass Pro when we are up there. We got a dry bag as part of DG's gift. She has outdoor summer camps coming up.
Have a nice day everyone and Good Luck to those facing surgeries.

It sounds like you had a nice day. :) I need to pickup some strawberries for our garden.

Another glorious day...I'm fed up already...

delivery driver of the new mower , has dropped it off at a pick up point right across town.

I called the delivery company who said there's nothing they can do about getting it to me... and if I don't collect it in 7 days it'll be returned to the sellers I called the company I bought it from in hope they can call DPD and have it picked up and brought to my house.. , and they're just not answering their phones..

It's not that I can't get there..it's just it's so heavy , it's too heavy for me to pick up and put in the car.... without putting my back out..

I'm really annoyed.. because there's a clear sign on my door, telling drivers where to put the packages... and this package didn't have to be signed for, they only had to take a picture of where they delivered it, so there was no reason for the driver to take it clear across town... I'm furious !!!

Okay. I'm up. @hawkdon, I'll be right over and make your "garden" a real show-stopper:)💐

Thinking about what to do today. There are those pavers waiting to be reset. Can't they just reset themselves? Please?

@hollydolly I'd be saying some words. Words, I tell you.
well, I did to the delivery company.. especially when the operator said..oh the drivers are not allowed to leave the package in a designated place... oh really ?..why not ?..if it doesn't have to be signed for..why not ?..all other delivery companies do...

I asked them can they re-arrange delivery and they said no.... I was just 😖😖

What's even more frustrating is the company I bought it from is based in Scotland.. I deliberately chose them over Amazon.... and now when I need to contact them, they are just not answering their phones

Save me from delivery companies. I finally got the parcel I was expecting last week. Parcelforce seem to have taken it up and down the country having failed to deliver it the first time. Fortunately, they seem to have handed it over to my nearest Royal mail sorting office and it was delivered by a local driver this morning.

Of the companies who deliver here, DPD is a bit dodgy as they use drivers who are unfamiliar with the area. DHL is pretty good and in spite of some poor reports, EVRI is good as the drivers live and work in the area. We have a really nice lady driver who knows where to leave parcels if nobody is in. Amazon drivers are a pain as whey will just stop in the middle of the road or on a blind bend, jump out and drop off parcels.

Got back to sleep, and oddly for me prior dreams resumed. Sort of dreading another one, those two women aren't giving up on jockeying for my attentions. Nothing prurient going on, they're just more than casual friends and seem to want something more.

the thing is the DPD driver here, know this area very well.. he's been here several times , I know his name... so him delivering it to a shop the other side of the nearby market town.. is just weird...

Evri gets a terrible press.. but my Evri driver is superb.. he delivers , no probs.. puts the packages at the back of the house if I'm not here.. always takes a photo..

Amazon are by far the worst ..they will as you say literally drop the parcel anywhere.. right outside on the doorstep without even ringing the bell.. and clearly available for anyone who wants to steal it... .

When I got home from my Mom's yesterday, I wasn't feeling good. I checked my temp and saw I had a fever, so I spent the rest of the day laying around, napping, etc.

I was restless during the night and didn't sleep well, so I'm still tired. At least I don't feel like I have a fever, so that's a good start!

Dio wants to try to get to the gym early, and home before the rain gets here....still not decided for sure. Regardless, I'm not going to overdue anything today.

Sending good vibes your way!

We do not have mail delivery because of having new mailboxes installed by the post office. They are supposed to have them set up tomorrow. We can go get the mail but it is so far away from where we live.

I ordered some things from Amazon and they won't deliver until Friday after waiting two weeks, they were supposed to deliver this Monday. I contacted Amazon and the seller is a third party but guaranteed it will be delivered. I suggested they might not be on the up and up. I guess I will have to wait longer.

Sorry, hollydolly, about your delivery. Yes, Amazon just puts the packages anywhere and not ring the doorbell at times.

I hope all goes well for everyone today.

Ok...what a different day I've had today to the one I was expecting to have

I was supposed to be going to see an olde worlde shopping village in a different county.. but because of this debacle with the mower... I had to try and arrange to get it collected..

I called my friend and she agreed to come and help me collect it.. so I had to take the QR code on my phone as ID to this far away Post office.. which is only a little tiny village style PO... with one person serving... a young girl... and the mower was on a big trolley of theirs.. and the let me use it to wheel the mower out, and Jen, helped me lift it into the car..

So as I was out, we went over to the next town south.. so we could have a drink in the pub garden...

and I could do some physical banking ...

I dropped jen off, and as its so hot I decided to keep going to a large town south west in the next county... where they have a big freezer food store, and where I usually go to stock the freezers up a couple of times a year..

Very hot.. feels much hotter than the temps said.. the roads were packed and so was the Big Box freezer store...

I got what I went for.. and got a box of Ice cream cones for the children next door.. and made my way back.. only to be stuck in major traafic jams due to roadworks....

Finally when I got home, I had to get my sack barrow to get the mower box out of the car.... *whew*..what a day and it's only just after 4pm 🥵

Left: Yesterday at Knott's Berry Farm www.knotts.com my grandson bravely fought off a monster.
Right: At our house, he is using my mini gym more than I do.

BTW, we designed the house ourselves, and a friend of a co-worker built it in 5 months (3 construction workers) for $52K

The ambulance is at my 88 year old neighbours house... they've been there quite a time. They parked outside my house so when one paramedic returned to the ambulance and opened the side door, then went in to complete forms, then set up an IV in the ambulance.. I could see everything she did... she then returned to the house, I'm presuming they're going to take her to the hospital...
