Had a bad day with Hubby yesterday.
He was busy all morning, doing one thing , than another
Then decided he & helper would paint the outside rear decking.

Needed the backhoe so they could reach the higher boards.
One person standing in the bucket , while other one moved it about with the backhoe.

Work stopped for lunch ,, hubby appearing to be exhausted

He stopped working & went to 'rest' on the sofa.
Said he was COLD.

Diarrhea hit him , made several trips .
Finally about 7 he went to bed, blankets& flannel comforter over him.
He slept till midnight, could hear him making more potty trips during the night.

Today he has been slowly moving about doing a few light chores.
Light meals.

well it is 62F and all sunny outside, bit of a breeze also....after
some heat pad therapy and my oxycodone pill I am less pain
ful than this morning....decided not to order groc delievery today as it would have me bouncing around the kitchen to put
it all away....maybe get grocery tomorrow...with only a 6 inch stride nowdays it takes too much walking around to get things
done than it used to.....well enuff of my whining....catch u later...

We've had 80F much of the day, mostly sunny and very breezy. Nicer out there now at 75 in late afternoon, though the wind is bringing down a lot of junk from tree flowering. Most of the tulips here and around me have been knocked down pretty hard.

As i suspected, they've taken my neighbour on a patient trolley into the ambulance... Goodness those trolleys are so 21st century now...

the one she's on right now looks like this...

Much easier on the paramedics’ backs than the old ones @hollydolly

I’ve been to a friend’s house this AM for some much-needed catching up; we sipped tea and ate scones with butter and fresh strawberries by her pool.. a lovely morning

Trip to pharmacy and grocery store … ate lunch outside… visited with Ed

I’ve got my eye on a “pie safe”-type piece of furniture at one of the local consignment shops. It looks like it would fit in my laundry room and hold various bulky items out-of-sight. Problem is, the owners are asking $500.00 for it. Once I get paid again, I’m going to stop in and see if they will take less for it. Can’t hurt to try.. cash in hand should beat it sitting on the warehouse floor, right?

@CinnamonSugar , I thought that about the trolley as soon I saw it.. and when I saw them hydraulically lift her on the trolley to their chest high before wheeling her into the ambulance . Her daughter and family were there, and they seemed in good spirits talking to the crew as they wheeled her out , so I'm taking it that she's not in serious trouble..

I'm not going anywhere in a meat wagon again. The last two trips were two trips too many.
my elderly neighbour is a force to be reckoned, fiesty as hell, loud... has a way of being too direct with people, and very nosey... she now has various issues, including a stoma bag ..and she walks with a cane very slowly.. . She hates all that of course, because she used to be a very strong independent individual...

However she still goes grocery shopping every single week.. despite being hardly able to walk even with a cane... no grocery deliveries for her... she's trying to be independent to the last

People with much less disabilty than her are happy to ride around in mobility scooters.. but not her !

her family member cleans for her now.. but that's only happened in the last 2 years

When I first moved here as a young wife and mother.. in my early 20's.. she was around 40 ish.. a young widow raising her children alone... and in all the time I've known her she's never looked for another man

IOW...tactless? LOL When we get old enough we can pretty much say anything and get away with it. I'm usually careful about what I say, but depending on the circumstances, I've been known to tell people to just STFU.
No this has nothing to do with age , she's always been like this... rude, really... and believe me I'm no snowflake but she pushes the boundaries the way she talks to people ...

I don't believe in hospitals. I prefer dying in my own bed. I'm a young 90! My only big achievements are conquering the entire world in my favorite game, Civilization VI. By the way, do NOT buy Civilization VII! It's a big downgrade from Civilization VI. I like to hear the little people screaming when I drop my nukes maiming and murdering millions.

Drove to my hospital and completed a Pre-Admit check-in and they gave me a 2:40pm 5/1 surgery time. I then picked up final grocery supplies. A brother will be with me on that day. Otherwise spent most of my day at home on my laptop grinding through most of the manual HTML coding for 20 added rose images on my website, a lot of Photoshop and computer work.

Below is a downsized for web version of a 4300 by 4100 pixel image of a rose cultivar named Coco Loco. I only began shooting rose garden roses after being stuck in the county during the 2020 pandemic Shelter in Place policy. I'd been trying to get a good image of one of these unusual colored roses since and finally nailed this cultivar. There are a few others in the garden I'm still unsatisfied with like one with a pumpkin color. Coco Loco flowers often have elements of light plum purple one can see below on petal edges. Generally, rose colors significantly change over time from what they first unfurl with from buds.

Good luck tomorrow David... hope everything goes smoothly, and you're recovery time isn't too long..

The rose is superb, I don't think I've ever seen a rose quite so spectacular... wow !

Good morning all...

Another gloriously hot morning.... 🌞 🌞 🌞 🌞 I'm just showered, and sitting here with a cuppa tea, before I start to do my hair and get ready to go and see the hospital consultant at the private hospital...

I've already phoned the local builders merchants and ordered some more fence panels to be delivered tomorrow.. because my gardener in an effort to be contrite about the mower handle has offered to finish the fence off by removing the exisiting panels and installing the new ones..

I was delighted to find that locally they will deliver for free.. having paid for delivery for the last panels from a different company....

I went out to the mailbox yesterday and a car, that had been driving around slowly, stopped. An older couple asked if I lived there.
I said yes and they told me they were the first people to buy and live in our house in the late seventies, early eighties.
They live in Oklahoma and drive east every year to visit relatives.
Very nice couple and they were complimentary on what we've done over thirty years. Their little daughter at the time danced in between the arches. They took a picture of them to show her.
We talked about some of their neighbors that we knew that had moved or passed on. It was a nice visit. I had heard of them over the years so it was really great to meet them.

@hollydolly Is this the fence that you wanted to put anti-squirrel thingies on top? If it is, don't forget to ask him to do that, too.

I'll be "alone" today and probably tomorrow because DD has a big two-part 24-hour turnaround job so will be chained to her desk all day and again tomorrow when part 2 comes in. She also has to work at her away-from-home job tomorrow morning.

It's gonna be a warm but mostly overcast day. I might be inclined to reset a couple of pavers after I deadhead some snapdragons. I know! Life in the fast lane🏎️. It's important to have things to do to keep me out of the bars. Right?

on my early walk at 6:50 temp was 41 as I walked around building twice a before breakfast
This morning, my friend, Mary &I are going on 'road trip' to Target need couple items
I've invited my close friend, Marcia to lunch today so she can meet my neighbor/friend, Cathie who owns my favorite dog "Rudy' here at Gates. I figured it would be a great opportunity for the 'dog mom's to get to know each other. Marcia & hubby Dave own my 'buddy boy' Tage'
The rest of my day hope to take afternoon walk
