What exercise have you done today?

Started my new workout of ten exercises (primal movements they're calling them.)
It only took me 5 minutes because I just did 5 reps each. I'll double that tomorrow if there's no shoulder or knee pain tonight.

Doubled the reps to 10 each today and it still only took 7 minutes so tomorrow I'll do 15.
My knee doesn't like it, but it doesn't like anything but sitting.
The main thing is, I can do sink push-ups without my rotator cuffs hurting. It's amazing how holding my
core in tight takes a lot of effort off my arms and shoulders.

I take 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper in 6 ounces of warm water every morning to reduce inflammation. It has helped me maintain joint mobility and comfort as well as having many health benefits including circulatory and cardio. This might help your knee discomfort?

I have a damaged rotator cuff tendon which I am trying to heal, no surgery unless absolutely necessary. I do dead hangs (hanging from a pull-up position) which has really helped with both discomfort and strengthening. It opens and relaxes the rotator cuff allowing the option of light exercise to strengthen and keep the rotator cuff in proper alignment/position. I still have a ways to go, but it is improving.

My once broken elbow and wrist feel must better when I lift since I went off Fossamax. They hurt before I went on it, then hurt more when on it, now I hardly feel them. Don't know if its the medication stop or the exercise. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks for mentioning, I have been a long time culinary fan of chilies and peppers, and have known of the pain relieving properties of Capsaicin, but in recent times have not been availing myself of the benefits. I will get back into using capsaicin on a regular basis.

Another low impact~no impact exercise is the Plank. I prefer the High Plank, which is just the push up position, as the more common version that has you bearing your body weight on the forearms just isn't good for my 70+ yr. old elbows.

Far too warm here for anything strenuous, but I'm trying to get some more tidying done before daughter comes to visit in a couple of weeks.
Come rain or come shine, I will soon have to cut the grass in the garden. I've often wondered how far I walk up and down the garden, but I don't have a pedometer.

I did my usual very early am hike - about 4 miles.
I ran into a local legend at the trailhead the other day. Other bikers call him “Woolly Nelson” (long gray bushy pony tail)- he’s a guy in his early seventies and I have passed him on the bike path several times over the years. He was busy folding up his recombinant bike or I would have engaged him in conversation. The guy is in fantastic shape. All muscle. Age is just a number for people like that.

I do strength training on my old Bowflex. I have done it for years. My doctor held a wellness seminar recently and one of the things he said was don't lose muscle mass or it's difficult (but not impossible) for older people to get back. He also said that Creatine monohydrate taken just before or after exercise helps build muscle mass. It won't do anything if you don't exercise but kind of amplifies it when you do. He is a holistic person and doesn't recommend suppliments lightly so I added that too.

I always thought this was a possibility. I was on the bike path this morning when a mentally disturbed homeless sitting on a mattress ran out from under a bridge up ahead. He started throwing good sized rockets at me and screaming “stop walking, stop riding, *cursing, *cursing, etc” No shirt, pants falling down. Two rocks barely missed me. I did call 911 when I got back to my phone. I have a feeling this guy might get tasered. He was extremely agitated. Edit: I should add I wasn’t the only one he was throwing rocks at and one rock missed me by inches.

It’s been a homeless epidemic this summer. Worst I have seen.

I worked in a hospital when I was an undergraduate. I used to see this same behavior - in the locked mental ward.

Sounds like some of you guys need a more circular route. I'm very task driven myself, so to keep from turning around, I would go out from home in a big half circle so that when I started to get impatient I was already on the way back and it just made me run faster (those were the days when I could run.)
