Morning all, I took my early walk at 6:50 temp was 34 with a breeze as I wore my winter boots. I didn't;t go far just to the end of the driveway by the signal light and back
As things are back to normal, this morning going to weekly Fri exercise class at 10am, rest of my day read yesterday& today's NYT. I may go out for another walk this afternoon if its not snowing,we have about an inch of snow
Everybody have a great day

Not much going on just now.....it's still before sunrise and I'm starting to wake up.

Today is the last of our (sort of) nice days for a while. This evening the rain is to start, and the temperatures will be dropping. We'll have bad weather for at least a week, maybe even longer.

We are planning on going to the gym today, and then Wal-Mart....not my idea! The gym sounds good, but I have always tried to avoid going to any stores on Black Friday. This should be interesting! NOT! Especially since the freezer is full, and I can't really think of anything that we will "need" in the next week. Well, maybe toilet paper....but that's the only thing.

So, I guess that's the plan for today. Wish me luck! 🙄

Morning all folks!! I slept in a bit better last nite yay!! Feel okay if
a bit of sore joints, which is usual at this age....I made it a do nothing
day yesterday and did it quite well thankyouverymuch!!!! One of
my friends was a no-show with the turkey dinner plate, so luckily
I had my Marie Callendar frozen turkey dinner for celebration on
the day....but it is a dissapointment nowadays.....the quality/quantity
has gone straight down to the bottom....ah well no plans for today at all!!!:):D:coffee::devilish::love:

Good morning everyone. It is cold this morning, 40 degrees feels like 35 degrees.

Thanksgiving dinner was a good one for us. We had turkey and some mixed vegetables, with mashed potatoes for husband (it is not allowed with my kidney disease) and hot rolls. Our dessert was caramel apple pie. We only had a small slice since we were not very hungry at that time.

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Enjoy your day today. :)

Did you know that Simon Cowell grew up in Elstree?
Just off Deacon's Hill I believe. And therefore not far down from where Stanley Kubrick's house was up on Barnet Lane.

We've lived on the South side of Borehamwood (Not Elstree) for the last 38 years, and it'll be 39 years in January. Did you know there's even a Facebook forum called 'Borehamwood not Elstree' ?

days been ok so far,but will change at 6pm,,youngest grandson is staying overnight lol,,and hes gonna help do the tree, should be fun, maybe, so its piza for tea,and jelly for afters.well hes got his own room, but dosent always work out that way,i may end up in the spare room, cause he likes sleeping with us,so i move out, well hes only five,
roll on saturday lol

My brother lives right on the rim of Lake affect snow. He got a good 8 inches of snow yesterday, Thanksgiving, More coming today.

Better him than me lol lol. I live 10 hours further south where we are running about 10° to 15° cooler than normal. It was 21° when I woke up at 5:30 this morning. The good news is, there is no wind, we will have full sunshine all day and we should hit 45° My horses love the sun in this kind of weather.

The horses heated water tubs are still working, so that’s a good thing.

My precious neighbor who had about 20 family members over for Thanksgiving, brought me over enough food to last for three days. Her entire family are first class cooks and bakers. One container had two huge pieces of Bundt cake that looked really good. When I opened it up, I got a good whiff of rum. Rum-filled Bundt cake Yum. There’s still one piece left.😇😇

With the holiday past and today the last day of Black Friday pricing, am wondering given the midnight start of Cyber Monday pricing into further Christmas season days, if prices change on the two expensive items I've held off on purchasing till now, a Pixel 10 Pro and Sigma 17mm to 40mm DC ART lens?

Our Thanksgiving dinner went well and finally met my 2 year old great grand nephew. Tonight, may drive 50 miles north to Berkeley for an AC/DC tribute band event that will obviously have lots of young university students in attendance. And then after 2 quiet weekend days, on Monday is another Dead jam band evening event at a familiar venue.

I wish our roads were clear enough or had less traffic even to just be able to drive 50 miles without too much tought... instead of the jam packed, sardine like filled roads that we have here that means that it's a real trial these days to think of jumping in the car and going somewhere on a whim... I miss those days

awww... why did they not come?... I bet you were disappointed.. as much for the company as the food I suspect...

A little paraffin shaved into the chocolate makes it stick. Squares of food grade paraffin are sold in groceries. Called Gulf Wax.
I've noticed BTW that bananas these days are very hard to open!
Well, I will tell you the monkey's secret. Don't open them at the top. Simply twist that little knot at the bottom. It is much easier to open a banana that way, plus you can pretend to be a great ape or something while you are doing it!

Thanks for the tip. I didn't know there was food grade paraffin.

Make a small horizontal slit about a half inch below the stem of the banana and pull up and over.
Yes that's what I do but you used to just bend the stem end and it opened. Not any more! My toddler grandson HAS to open the banana himself so I do have to sneak a slit in it but WHY don't they open anymore? 🤔

Good morning afternoon, everyone. Hope all are doing well. I'm set up for another quiet day here. I don't feel like doing anything—well, other than work at my desk—and so am going to take it easy.

It's only 17 (–8 C) here and supposed to get colder and snowier. I'm all set to go out tomorrow for a full day of errands and such, but . . . not today. :)

We had a nice Thanksgiving,,just the right amount of food for 3.

Hubby & son are trying to get son's car running so they can load it into the car hauling trailer.
Cleaned up what left overs we had.

Now to plan food for the Saturday deer hunters.
Youngest son called to say he should be here about 4 p.m.

We have 6 inches of snow.
Been blowing snow,, off & on.
Hope there is enough snow that the hunters get a deer,,Saturday.

We cut up our own deer,, grind it into ground meat.

Have a good week end.

Per above post, some musings I'll share showing how such events are complex dealing with requiring preparation. During the day, it might be trivial, but at night, especially during a chilly time of year, somewhat scary.

If this evening, I drive the 50 mile roundtrip, that will be about 4 gallons of gas at ~$4/gal or $16. If I take our BART transit, it will be $2.50 roundtrip drive to the BART station and only $5.70 roundtrip (seniors heavily discounted) to the destination or $8.20. I use BART maybe once every couple years, so am poorly familiar with use, thus need to read online info each time. Have just copied 8 jpg files of into my smartphone. Music venue for concert will charge another $20.

Night driving the 100 miles on a freeway roundtrip with headlights glaring is more unpleasant than using BART, sitting in a train. But driving has more flexibility as a base in several ways, including storing items like extra clothing, real street maps, and food. Driving has unknown available parking concerns, but given chilly 45F temps, can avoid dealing with unavoidable periods outdoors dealing with BART at stations. Driving also requires doing so in an unfamiliar city traffic at night. Even though have studied maps, from experience know it is really easy at night to get off a route and then semi-lost awhile going around in circles trying to read dark street signs.

BART will take about an hour each way while driving could be longer due to traffic. Am leaning towards driving, mainly because, the cost difference is chump change, I have more control and doing so on a chilly night late November in an unfamiliar city is scary. The clothing I need to actually wear driving can be less warm, since I don't need to worry about getting stuck outside too long, much less overnight.
