How Did You Sleep?

Well, I'm glad then that it seems to be working for you while you are working with it. :)
 
I'm having no trouble getting to sleep. It's staying asleep that's the problem. I wake up 3-4 hours after falling asleep. I put on TV to something boring, and in about 20-30 minutes, I fall asleep again. Then 4 hours later, the TV automatically goes off on it's own (and I can't change that setting) then I wake up again around 4 AM and cannot go back to sleep again. Sometimes I just get up.

I think we all have problems sleeping. Life is so much more complicated now. Back then, whenever, we worked all day and then went to bed we didn't wake up till the alarm went off. Now, we are older, our bladders are not the same. Hell! nothing is the same. We go to bed with worries, we dose off with worries. Then the bladder says sorry but I am full. Back to bed and the issues occupy your mind again until you dose off. Join the club. :)

My husband has this problem most nights too. Sorry for you.

please don't take offense. I didn't mean it that way. More light hearted if you will excuse me. I just was implying that most of us get up in the middle of the night. If you can sleep all night, great. I wish I could. No offense intended. Please forgive me. Not meant as you think. Envious I suppose. Have a good evening
 
I'm going to try to do my "at home" sleep apnea test tonight. I have a thingy to wear on my wrist, one on my index finger and another doo-dad to glue on my chest.

That's a lot better than the overnight in-the-hospital one I did back in 2009. I had so much stuff stuck on me, I looked like The Amazing Wire Woman. And I had to do it twice. I was diagnosed with moderate-to-severe sleep apnea and prescribed a CPap but I just couldn't get used to it and eventually gave it back.

I don't think I snore anywhere as much as I used to. The Spousal Equivalent complains (yeah, like HE should be complaining about snoring) but my sister who I travel with says I have, and I quote, "a little lady-like purr".

But my primary sent me to a sleep doc and the sleep doc wants a test....so here I am. Wish me luck.
 
Went to bed at 7 PM, propped up with pillows to watch TV. Fell asleep at unknown time, but then wide awake by 9:30, turned off TV. Hungry, got up had a cookie, back to bed, tossed and turned for an hour, so I turned TV back on, then got interested in old Perry Mason show. That wasn't supposed to happen - I thought I'd get sleepy - so I lost another hour until show was over. Finally fell asleep sometime after midnight, then wide awake by 3:15 AM. Couldn't go back to sleep, so got up at 4 AM and took my morning shower. This is how a bunch of nights have gone lately.
 
I saw the sleep study doc to see if their study could possibly explain why I get terrible pain in my ankles and my sinuses and ears when i sleep. We talked for quite awhile( I think he was from the east somewhere...India, or the Middle East.) He was concerned but he said he had never heard of this. He is about 50.

So, that exhausts my 3 year search for a reason. Now I am removing as many RX meds as I safely can taper, and hope the pain leaves as the meds leave. :)

That's a totally messed up sleep pattern. Go to bed at a set time at night. Clear your mind of concerns, relax your body and don't think. All the concerns will be there the next day and day is when they should be addressed. Go to sleep. wake up to pee but go back to bed. No tv etc, just go back to bed and start to relax your body from head to toe concentrating on letting each muscle relax. Only get up for the bathroom.

Unless the present pattern suits you, do try relaxation.

This reminds me of a tape my mother used to listen to ...to help her sleep. It was a relaxation tape. Your were told to relax every part of your body. It started at your toes, then relax your legs, hips, arms , etc. You get my drift. It seemed to help her for awhile.
