It’s a bit reminiscent of Mork and Mindy and ALF, but darker and more compelling…the SyFy channel’s show, Resident Alien, that is! It’s hard to characterize this show, but sci-fi murder comedy comes close. Our titular Alien crash-lands on Earth in the wilderness while trying to perform a mission, kills the first human that he encounters to assume his identity, and projects the physical appearance of that late doctor effectively enough to be accepted as him. Our intellectual and physical superior, he functions as the community’s new doctor while struggling to understand proper human behavior and emotions. Only one boy can somehow see the alien’s real appearance, and the alien is gradually coming to understand and appreciate the human community although rather awkwardly at times.
