“Why you love Liver and Onion meals?”

When I was a kid, we used to have liver and onions sometimes. It is amazing, and I remember it fondly. However, there is no way I could eat it today. Just the thought makes me feel a little ill.

No, there is no sense in it. I know it tastes great. But that strange texture, and just the idea...... I can't do it.

I don't know why I like some foods and not others - that's just how it is. The only place I could ever find beef liver smothered in onions was Luby's cafeteria, which closed sometime ago. Fried chicken livers would do, and I could get those at my grocery store deli, but not anymore. As much as I would enjoy having a meal of either beef or chicken livers, I won't attempt to prepare it myself.

One of the few things my Mom didn't know how to cook beef liver with onions. The liver was always tough. In my 20s a roommate made some cooked slow with a little bit of cider vinegar in the pan. Learned how to do myself. But i'm the only one who eats now.

Same with breaded chicken livers, too much work for just me. But some years when son and grandson come to visit son asks for some and then it's worth it.
