13 months lost at sea....

Read that he reported the boy died because he couldn't or wouldn't eat the raw birds. Being a saltwater baby, have read many lost-at-sea accounts. Some are fabricated for various reasons but many are true tales of survival. Time will tell about this latest...

According to news I heard this evening his internal organs are swollen from too much ingested salt.
He's perhaps not as well nourished as first glance would suggest.
Let's wait to hear what the doctors say.

You are right of course; but speculation is always rife..

I think the appropriate sign off is QED, except it isn't. :bigwink:

Too formal for this occasion, I think ... ;)

Besides, voilà is often used in magic acts, and what could be more magical than a guy showing up in such excellent health after being adrift for 13 months? I haven't seen that report on his internal organs yet, so I'm holding that judgement in abeyance.

(How's THAT for a word? :p)

Jeez, I hope whenever I wash up on shore after too long at sea that none of you skeptics have the misfortune of finding me. Sometimes. SOMETIMES! Things are exactly as they appear.

... but far more often they are not ...

Besides, if YOU washed up on shore your board wouldn't be far away, so that would make your claim legitimate. ;)

Yes they do. To me this appears to be not so.

There have been occasions of people faking stuff like this to what end I'm not sure. Hopefully, the truth will be known. Maybe not...
