Normally my husband leaves his bedroom door open for the cat to get in with him.at night . The dogs sleep with me. Since not letting her in, she would just howl at night. It was pitiful.
Normally I get up extra early and she’d be crying for food. She didn’t the past two mornings. Yesterday I slept in really late and only saw her once outside walking around the veranda. Now I wished I’d knocked on the window or gone to see if she wanted in.
Last night we had a bad thunder and lightening storm. I think either a coyote got her or she went under the veranda to die. The thought that she didn’t think we loved her any more so ran off to die haunts me.
She was a bit senile but I think she was trying to let us know she was dying.
I can’t process this and feel like such a neglectful cat owner.
