In the past 2 or 3 weeks, there has been an abundance of lengthy, and heart wrenching TV commercials from charities supposedly supporting disabled children, disabled veterans, and abandoned pets, etc.
Doing some research, it seems that the executives of most of these charities are the biggest beneficiaries. I doubt that half of the money donated actually goes to the causes these commercials claim to support. Here is a long list of millionaires leading these charities.

The Absolute worst may be the ASPCA....a report a few months ago claims that only 2% of their donations actually go to helping animal shelters.
ASPCA gives 2% of budget to pet shelters while ‘hoarding’ millions: think tank
It would seem that if a "charity" is spending a fortune on TV ads, it is just another Scam. Far better to find a small local charity that helps locals....IMO.
