This man life is AMAZING. He is the Father of healthier diets and exercise. Now we know that it is primary for us to be healthy.

Here's to Jack!!

Doctors, however, advised their patients to stay away from his health club, a business totally unheard of at the time, and warned their patients that "LaLanne was an exercise 'nut,' whose programs would make them 'muscle-bound' and cause severe medical problems."[11] LaLanne recalls the initial reaction of doctors to his promotion of weight-lifting:

People thought I was a charlatan and a nut. The doctors were against me‍—‌they said that working out with weights would give people heart attacks and they would lose their sex drive.[5]

I watched that old video on Youtube a few years ago and thought how, if I had just started eating that way and doing his simple, safe calisthenics, back when I used to watch him during school vacation, I would never have had a weight problem.

I read once that he spent , on average two hours p/day working out/exercising. Added up, and divided out, that means he spent six years of the eighty he lived after starting his life of exercise & nutrition, dedicated to it.

I don't think there are many of us that have sort of conviction.

And somewhere along the way he created a way for it to become income as well. I think we'd all exercise more if it were also our paycheck <grin> He was indeed a different sorta guy !

True but, keep in mind that George Burns, never did any exercise, drank everyday, lived on casino food, & admitted to smoking 6-7 Cuban cigars everyday ............... And he lived to be 100 !

So ....... which is really better for you ???
I wouldn't put that stuff in my body. No offense to George Burns. Besides. He was not ripped and muscular like Jack Lalane was he?

I want to be slender and fit and I'm willing to work hard for it. 🤗

You can't base one persons longevity and good health purely on lifestyle choices.

In the case of George Burns, it boiled down to good genetics.

That's true Marg, but Jack Lalane was in MUCH better shape. I think if we are all honest we will admit that. :giggle:

It always boils down to good/bad genitics.

Life style,[ short of LaLane comittment ] has little to do with it.
