2023 - How's the Weather Where You Are?

The sky looks threatening. It's gray and dark at 1:30 pm. We are supposed to get a possibly "dangerous" storm today . I have the blind s open to watch what's going to happen. It's around 79 degrees.

Tomorrow it's going to be 90 f and seem like over 100. I'm forever grateful for my AC.

It’s pretty much as hot as Hell’s front porch And has been for months. Triple digit heat has killed our lawn and plants. The city has enacted water rationing for outdoor watering, and yet they still approve more new housing.

It's the third day of overcast skies .. we need some sunshine! We had a thunderstorm last night, with lots
of lightning. I love thunder/lightning (as long as it doesn't take out the power!) It continues to be humid.

Can't wait for cooler autumn weather, my favourite season.

We had a "splash & dash" shower this morning. Then it was sunny until about an hour ago. Now it's raining a pretty good clip.

Here in east Texas we have enjoyed a couple of weeks of 100+ temps. Grass in back yard is crispy and brown. Grass in front is holding on since I water it every few days. Strange thing happened yesterday evening. The sky turned dark and there were thunder boomers for an hour or so and then a pitter patter of rain drops. Didn't rain much but it did knock those 105 degree temps down to the 90's for the next week.

We had a long downpour yesterday afternoon. I had forgot to set the rain gauge back out after weeding the weed patch, so I don't know exactly how much there was, but from similar storms this year, it was probably at least a half inch. Cloudy but dry right now, but more rain promised overnight into tomorrow.

Our weather has been great this August. The temps have been moderate/warm but no excessive humidty and the sun has shone almost everyday! We're very lucky.

We are at the red arrow so we are fairly safe although we just had a squall come through. High winds and tons of rain. Outer band of storm will affect us a bit.
