2023 - How's the Weather Where You Are?

The wind and rain stopped quite abruptly yesterday evening and today it's forecast to be mostly dry, but cold. We've got a small top-up shopping to do because I hadn't quite allowed for the extra coffee, milk etc.. we would use now that our daughter is here. Might get a walk on the beach which is more or less across the road from Lidl & Tesco.

70 mph winds and heavy rain overnight, its just starting to ease off a bit,had a quick look around outside cant see any damage

Quite calm here this morning after a night of driving rain and gale force winds. It even blew the 10kg gas bottle for the BBQ across the garden!

Architecture.

Sitting in my home, looking out the window, it looks like there's a wicked wind and it's overcast. But stepping outside to walk the dog, it's actually quite nice out, with not much wind at all.

Reason? Architecture. :D

Is looking at "architecture" your reason for stepping outside? Or is "architecture" blocking the wind to quite an extent when you're outside?

Heavy rain again... It's dark no, and I had to go and turn on the dehumidifiers in the outhouses.. dashed up there got soaked cuz I didn't put a coat on.. came back after locking them up, and put a coat and hat on to take the wheelie bin out front to the kerb for collection tomorrow..very heavy because it hasn't been emptied for 2 and a half weeks...

It's a quirk of the architecture at my home. I have a balcony (which the dog loves) but it traps wind and creates small whirlwinds at the slightest breeze. Looking at it, you'd think you're amidst a major storm, but when you actually step outside the front door - it's calm out.

As for today, it's glorious. I will qualify that by saying, it's typically grey and overcast, but temp wise it's just about perfect. For England in December, it's wonderful.

Another night of strong winds and heavy rain. I've just been up the garden to put out food for the birds. The ground is saturated and there's no wind. As usual, the birds were waiting for me and I'm going to have to buy more seed.

When you mentioned dehumidifiers you reminded me that I was supposed to buy one when the kids were here. I forgot about it. Now I need to hire someone to bring it to the basement. Ugh.

I missed the last garbage collection so I have to wheel out 2 cans next week. I need to do better with making a to do list.
